View Full Version : Iraq, the forgotten war

God almighty, do you all not remember the protest, nightly death updates, calls for impeachment, code pink, a general call to stop this war from the left and now, pretty much nothing since barry won! This alone could be the sickest thing barry and the gang promised he/they would fix once elected, of course sending more troops to our 2nd war and adding another war without anyones approval is pretty high up there! another

Anyways, good article.

It was a throwback to the bad old days. Car bomb after car bomb, more than 10 in all, blasting Iraqi civilians in the middle of a blazing summer. Suicide bombers and gunmen targeting security forces. The figures were grim: At least 85 people were killed and more than 300 wounded in 17 cities stretching from the north to the south of Iraq.

And didn't the surge worked and turned Iraq in the model democracy of the middle east? :rolleyes

And the unemployment rate is almost double what the avg rate under GWB was and the current deficit is 5 times higher than the avg under GWB, and, somehow in the last three years, gas went up to 3.50 and just became the "new normal".

But, he has a (D.) after his name.

But, we need to be focusing on the important issues, like gay marriage and plant food in our atmosphere.

Now that you got that out of your chest, any thoughts on Iraq? A YoutTube perhaps?

BTW, gas at $3.50 was the 'new normal' back in dubya's day too. Heck, I remember $4/gallon back then.

Oh, and Barry sucks. He said he was going to end this shit, and we're still there. I never had any doubts that shithole was going to revert into a shithole. Which is why we shouldn't have gone there in the first place.

Why did we go there?

Why are we still there?

Gay marriage would require less focus if, you know, the bigots didn't care so much about it.

"we're still there."

The MIC wanted, started, owns the wars. The wars are out of civilian control. Can you see Romney, Perry, or Bachmann ending the wars?

The gays care about it. The rest of us are like, whatever.

A good amount of non-gays certainly care about it. Amending the constitution type of care about it.

You're more obtuse than usual.

How many times must we remind you.

That navy ships mission was completed.

In this aspect is where Mcain destroys Obama. He understood there was no way to have an easy out of either war or even close Guantanamo.

and :lol at anybody who actually believed Obama was gonna completely end the wars. that's just not possible. It took the russians 25+ years to get out of Afghanistan. Everyone should have accepted the fact that Dubya fucked it up for America for the next 25 years.

this should be the #1 thing Obama gets attacked for, not the economy. :lol the GOP, clueless as usual

You know, in all my years completing various missions for the Air Force, I'm disappointed that the president has never shown up with a banner in my squadron's honor.

Tons of them, but no banner. Usually they just say, "Good job, now here's four more." :(

A giant banner would do wonders for my morale, tbh.

That's the first time I've heard that explanation. Or I may have heard it before but repressed it from my memory as it is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

You're not alone. I wonder how many more completed missions ceremonies he attended, including national TV coverage and teleprompter in hand. :rolleyes

Jack should have cared MUCH more about starting the wars on false pretenses followed by mission creep and nation building.

Once the MICs' war profiteering starts hauling in the $10Bs, aided and abetted by the Repugs who privatized, for MUCH more expense, everything in sight and with little or no bidding and apparently no cost oversight.

Now the righties use THEIR wars to beat up Barry for not stopping the MIC.
