The men's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Omnilife Stadium from 19 October to 28 October. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their mens U-22 national teams.[1]
For these Games, the men competed in a 8-team tournament, which is a drop from 12 at the 2007 games. Preliminary matches will commence on 18 October. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each pool advanced to an four-team single-elimination bracket.

I've watched all their games so far. They started off pretty bad and have gotten better each game. Defense kinda sucks still. I haven't seen Argentina play so idk.

They tied with Argentina, tied with Cuba, and lost to Costa Rica 3-1.

crofl Brazil

Argentina is basically the same team that went to the U-20 WC minus Lamela, Ferreyra and some others (the stars), so I don't have any idea how the fuck they managed to get to the final.

No surprises there :lol

That coach and team was pretty much the same from U20, IIRC. The defense was good, but offensively they had no ideas. Surprised they reached the finals, tbh. Congrats.

The idea of holding a Pan American Games dates back to the hosting of the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. Latin American representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) who were inspired by the holding of the first Central American Games in 1926, proposed the creation of a competition that would include all the countries of the Americas, for the purpose of strengthening sport activities in the region.
