View Full Version : More awesomeness from Pat Robertson

The Rev. Pat Robertson, who once said his prayers turned a hurricane away from Washington, D.C., feels quake damage to the Washington Monument may carry a message from “the Lord.”

The TV evangelist cited a four-foot crack in the Washington Monument, caused by Tuesday’s 5.8 earthquake, as a possible sign from the supernatural. He did not discuss greater damage inflicted on spires of the Washington Cathedral.

“Ladies and gentlemen I don’t want to get weird on this so please take it for what it’s worth,” the Rev. Pat, a former Republican presidential candidate, told his TV audience.

“But it seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of America’s power. It has been the symbol of our great nation, we look at that monument and say this is one nation under God.

“Now, there’s a crack in it and it’s closed up. Is that a sign from the Lord? Is that something that has significance or is it just result of an earthquake? You judge, but I just want to bring that to your attention.”

Robertson went on to say: “It seems to me symbolic. When Jesus was crucified and when he died the curtain in the Temple was rent from top to bottom and there was a tear and it was extremely symbolic. Is this symbolic? You judge.”

It’s not the first time Robertson has been heard on “acts of God.”

I wish the big dick (or washington monument as some call it) would have broken off. That would have been cool

You know, if Christians want to believe every natural disaster is a message from God, fine.

It's just interesting that those "messages" are never the result of our greed or our failure to love our neighbors... For some reason, his messages are always sent because of homosexuals and Democrats.

Pat Robertson is way off base here. God was clearly warning Mike Shanahan not to make Rex Grossman his starting QB.

Are you saying that God is a Mormon?

Ironically, I've always believed that Jesus came to Earth SPECIFICALLY to clear up misconceptions about the way God chooses to communicate and be in relationship with us - PR should probably read his bible more carefully.

No, just a Deity who recognizes that the road to salvation will not be travelled by a bus driven by Rex Grossman.

I was under the impression that God chose to communicate to his people through Moses.....and to Moses through a burning bush.

I may have to read the bible more carefully.

I'm not knocking you for your beliefs.

I'm knocking you for your knowledge of the Bible.
