Unless they beat Serbia it will be tough for France to qualify for the QF as they will face Spain, Turkey and Lituania in the 2nd round. If they do qualify for the QF, I think they have a chance against any team of Groups C/D (Russia, Greece etc). So then a medal would be possible.

In other words beating Serbia (and Italy just in case Italy would qualify) is crucial.
