Tbh is it bad that me and other people at UofA say "we takin' shots like Giffords!" whenever we're drunk?

No, it's the same model used.

What's the big deal?

Proven everyday dems sensationalize and demagogue that vicious attack. Pathetic but expected.

"dems"

Dems did nothing. One Dem was shot and other murdered with Klock.

It was local Repugs who ran a voter-drive/money-raising raffling a Klock, proving Repugs really are irredeemable, incorrigible sociopathic assholes.

The same brand, not the same gun. Different caliber, different size.

Tying these two things together is a stretch.

The TS has plenty of time to post his or her views here based on the massive post count. Umemployed? Govt worker?

What's a KLOCK? A timepiece perhaps?

"Tying these two things together is a stretch."

bullshit. same brand, same gun later model.

Raffling a Glock for Repug money-raising in Gifford's district is typical sick, baiting, hateful Repug politics.

NRA, guns/ammo pushers, gun fetishists are all about the money, not about 2nd Amendement and "freedom".

16,000 guns ‘lost’ from manufacturing plants in last 2.5 years: report

A report released Thursday highlighted that more than 16,000 firearms have been reported "lost" from licensed gun manufacturing plants before sale since 2009, an average of 18 guns lost per day. Many of these guns don't have serial numbers affixed yet, making them nearly impossible to trace and thus desirable for criminals.

Class act aren't you? Why the double post? Did I upset you?

You live in an alternative universe. I've seen your crazy posts before.

Not that you would care since you have a deeply ingrained POV, but a Glock 19 was used by that nut - a full size 9MM. A Glock 23 (the raffle item) is medium frame .40 caliber.

Go watch MSNBC for awhile so you can get more talking points for your many posts.

I don't think its a stretch to tie them in together at all. Its a pretty fucking stupid PR move at best.

Might be. Gun raffles aren't exactly uncommon. I think you would actively want to tie them together to do so.
Free country and all that.

I really haven't tracked them, CD. I'm pretty sure you haven't either, but there's a better than zero chance this isn't the first post-Gifford gun raffle.

Then it wouldn't be the first time it was an insanely stupid idea either.

I will say this.

The NICS insta check system should include CURRENT and CORRECT information on people who are mentally defective like the Arizona gunman obvously was. He was scaring people and acting crazy for a long time, but he passed the NICS check.

This should not have happened.

I looked up the flyer/posting

http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2011-08-31-PimaCountyGlock.jpg

I don't see much of a big deal. Not really all that bright, posting the same model used in the shooting, but I don't think it was intentional.

I would give them the benefit of the doubt about that.

Raffling a gun to raise money for a political run though, that is a bit creepy, IMO.

I guess it makes sense in the GOP "guns 'n' country" milieu, and that appeals to the base, but still...

Creepy and dumb, but not deliberately evil.
