i got curious about the teams up 2-0 in the finals who won 95 percent. there've been two teams who have lost after having gone up 2-0, so i wanted to see if there were any similarities. and there aren't, really, and there's nothing that spells any good signs for detroit. there was the Boston-Lakers 1969 Finals (boston up 2 then lost) and Portland-Philadelphia in 1977. in both, at least one of the first two games was competitive and no team scored less than 89 points. i know a lot has changed since then but that just makes the outlook that much more bleak for detroit.
