Hey teabaggers according to the Congressional Budget Office(which you guys always quote) the 787 billion dollar stimulus package didn't create 1 job it created between 1.9 million and 3 million jobs.

Oh yeah!

I think the actual number is closer to 2.5 million ....that's 2.5 million people that aren't collecting social benefits or unemployment, are paying taxes and feeling good about themselves...plus that money didn't just disappear, it's still circulating in the economy, albeit from the top-down.....that's what has to get better in this new jobs stimulus package...I favor a bigger tax credit for families with dependent children, tax credit for businesses making less than a couple million a year, the removal of the Social Security cap to insure the long-term stability of that program and the borrowing capacity of the government...closing tax loopholes on corporations and a minimum effective taxable rate which every business will have to pay....I favor taxing businesses that chose to hire workers in China for less than a dollar a day at a higher rate than businesses that hire American workers...I favor enforcing more stringent international laws that today allow businesses to hide billions of dollars in profits in foreign accounts while 50% of children, many of them in red states, live in extreme poverty...

Awesome!

This must be why his poll numbers are so high.

Barry should hit the campaign trail with this terrific news.

Its an estimate....and if you bothered to actually read the analysis, and the entire section devoted to disclaimers and caveats, you'd undetstand its not a particularly strong one at that. Im a fan of the CBO because when they do their analysis, they are generally very open with the pros and cons of the methodology used.

Good job, Joe :tu

How many were government jobs? And why has the unemployment rate not gone up since he took office??? I mean, I know one time it held steady but I don't recall a jobs report ever being a gain.

Good job, Joe.

Kinda off topic, but I thought it was funny to hear the OAIl wing-nut talking heads celebrating 1200 good-paying jobs coming to Ft.Sam this morning..it's like SA won the lottery...funny how nobody pointed out the they were high paying government jobs, with government benefits that they badmouth the other 11 hours of the day

Not only off topic but just bum fucking stupid. No one in San Antonio downplays the importance the military has historically played in our economy and the conservatives you hate are the biggest supporters of our military.

Doesn't change the fact that military jobs are government jobs.
