Spurs to get screwed the most if a hard cap is implemented?

If there's a hard cap, or even a semi-flaccid cap, they're still screwed unless they can turn Tony Parker ($50 million through 2015) into a significantly cheaper point guard (like Ricky Rubio or Kyle Lowry). I think it's fascinating that (a) Spurs owner Peter Holt has the most juice of any owner in this lockout, (b) the owners are pushing for a hard cap, and (c) no 2011-12 team would be more screwed over by a hard cap than the Spurs.

A hard cap would be great for Spurs and Spurs fans should celebrate if it happens.

In the short time, it could hurt them with all the big contracts they had but you had to look at the bigger picture:

First, Spurs are done as a contender. Even a friendly cap system won't save them. If a hard cap hurt them, they haven't a lot to loose. It could even be a good thing because it will give them better draft picks for the future.

Second, Spurs are a small market team. A hard cap will help them to compete against biggest market when/if they get relevant again because it will close the financial gap Spurs have against team like Mavs and Lakers.

Simmons: Here's why we're having a lockout — because teams are so effing stupid that they actually need to waive guys they just signed a year ago. There should be bonus amnesty points for being total morons. The Nets should get to wipe twice the amount of Outlaw's contract off their cap, like how disabled people get to park in disabled-person spaces.
