The mysa.com article had some depressing quotes. Apparently he was in his fourth (generally last) year of his tour of duty. At first he was passionate about the military but like many others he grew to dislike it along with the policies of war and was planning to pursue another career.

RIP. Check our Restrepo for a chilling firsthand look at what a battle in Afghanistan is like.

Oh and joshdaboss is a troll lol. Love the Parker bashing :toast

I feel bad for his parents as I do for all the innocent Afghan civilians killed by Coalition Forces. However, he made a choice to join the military whereas the Afghans were thrust into this situation by force.

Which no one was debating and which wasn't the point of this thread.

I wish you guys wouldn't use the quote feature to quote trolls over and over and over. Then, I would only have to delete two or three posts instead of twenty-something very time.

Anyway, back to the thread -- which isn't for political opinions or military bashing. You can do that in the Political forum.

- "From William Shakespeare, Richard the Third, a small excerpt. The line reads, 'He has come to open the purple testament of bleeding war.' And for Lieutenant William Fitzgerald, A Company, First Platoon, the testament is closed. Lieutenant Fitzgerald has the found the Twilight Zone."

That's sad, I hate that for his family. I wish we would pull our boys out of there, this kind of news is getting old to me.

I feel very bad for his parents and their loss. You should never have to bury a child.

I do, however, think that the article writer should have left out her statements about his view on his military service. She said these things in her grief, and it was not really the time to publish them.
