What would you give up to ensure the NBA comes back?

The Dallas Mavericks championship.

Not one damn thing.

I have baseball for the next month, football until February, and NCAA March madness after that, leading into the start of another baseball season. F'em if they're too greedy to divide up a pie larger than most country's budgets.

Agreed.

I'm paid in full for my 2011-12 Spurs season tickets. If ownership would prefer to send me a refund rather than have me attend the games and pay for parking and concessions, I'm ok with that.

I think they are actually giving season ticket holders additional benefits should the season be shortened or cancelled. At least that is what my rep said.

You should have gotten an e-mail detailing your options. They're basically offering a small bonus for you to keep your money in your account and then use the proceeds for the 2012 playoffs or the 2012-13 season. The other choice is to receive a monthly refund as games are cancelled. October 24th is the deadline to choose.

I read a couple of years back that there are only two days each when there are no professional sports games from the four major sports on: the off days around the baseball ASG, since no sport is overlapping there. Mix in college sports, and you'll always have something to watch if you want.

When baseball struck for one full calendar year in the 1990s, I ignored it for a decade. I didn't even know that my team, the Tigers, were in the playoffs in 2006 until they beat the Yankees and made the mainstream news.

It's not always crap, wooden shoes.

Sure as hell am not givin up my beer! I would just give up my nights of peace knowing Bonner would be playing and I would be cursing and ruining my nights! This current SPURS team is a joke to me defensively, so I would not give up a damn to see them play this year unless POP regained his mind.

I'd give up the NBA's integrity. They should just acknowledge that a lot of it is fake and predetermined, like in wrestling.

I'd give up RJ, and maybe Bonner if I had to.

Apart from that, nothing. The Rugby World Cup keps me entertained right now, and there's always something else to watch or do.

If you can give me ONE reason why the league would in any way help a small market team who's players shun attention and that plays at a slow pace and draws historically low ratings in the playoffs, I'll have a discussion about this. There's just no reason at all for the NBA to do what you're claiming, and Stern is NOT signing off on anything that is not of benefit to the NBA.

The funny thing is that I think most fans feel the same way. They've turned off a lot of their fans. They're gonna have some work to do to fix things with the fans. I'm not even missing it. Maybe it's because we aren't relevant anymore but I could care less right now.

i didn't want the strike, but... i'm actually enjoying the time off from being a fan. i don't have to spend so much time checking stats, scores, and message boards, and i have hours of free formerly t.v. time because there are no games to watch.

The longer this lockout goes, the less I find myself caring. I've been completely disenchanted by this whole ordeal.

Which is exactly what the NBA SHOULD be afraid of, yet fails to acknowledge. If even die hard fans are losing interest, how much will the casual fan care?

Casual fan doesn't have a horse in the race and doesn't really care since casual fan doesn't watch until the all-star break.

I hope so

Doubt it. Despite the fact that this is the SECOND lockout under his watch, Stern doesn't seem to be getting a whole lot of negative publicity in this deal. People either seem to be siding with the owners, or with the players, but no one seems to be talking about the douchebag commissioner that has let things get this far, and has nothing better to do than say "both sides are still far apart".
