Were at a bar having a few drinks. When they were done Amare said, "Don't worry guys, I got the check." James Dolan says, "Nah, you made me rich so I'll cover 57% of the check, you pick up the rest." David Stern then jumps in and says, "Guys, guys keep your money. You know the stupid fan always pays the tab." :bang

I do feel like I'm being totally screwed over as a fan, but that won't prevent me from jumping right back into it the second play starts again. I have no shame.

although its true they make big $ selling fans tickets & other NBA products, fans ain't their only source of revenue. most NBA teams had been losing money for years but the owner still hold on to this game & keep their annual investments cos they're all bball fans themselves. the only NBA-related persons who've been making profits are stern & his fellows, and the niggas of course

The lion's share of the owners make their money when they sell the team. In the interim they feed their egos, and play hide & seek with the IRS.
