Jimmy Ricky's God-craziness/obsession is a big reason his schtick won't go well outside of bubbaland, as well as being another dumb TX corporate tool.

Willard's Mormonism won't go well with the "Christian" evangeligcal supremacsists and his flabby, floppy, platitudinous non-extremism won't go well with tea baggers and other Repug extremist nihilists.

My guess is UCA thinks Willard will give them all or enough of want they want, and thinks he is the more electable.
