No college.

I make over $70k annual, and more than $10/hr in taxes.

Why are my taxes enough?

Its 85.6% 0% unemployment assumes a consistent 5% jobless at all times. Thats what centers around the whole discussion of full employment. The current situation is fucked and neither party is going to get us out of it.

Plenty to read but here is an idea of how the letter flows:

In the picture, you’re holding up a sheet of paper that says:

I am a former Marine.
I work two jobs.
I don’t have health insurance.
I worked 60-70 hours a week for 8 years to pay my way through college.
I haven’t had 4 consecutive days off in over 4 years.
But I don’t blame Wall Street.

Look kid, I don’t want you to “get by” working two jobs and 60 to 70 hours a week. If you’re willing to put in that kind of effort, I want you to get rich. I want you to have a comprehensive healthcare plan. I want you vacationing in the Bahamas every couple of years, with your beautiful wife and healthy, happy kids. I want you rewarded for your hard work, and I want your exceptional effort to reap exceptional rewards. I want you to accumulate wealth and invest it in Wall Street. Pretty good analysis.

Makes a lot more sense that the 53% would be the people in denial that this system is sustainable for the next generation or their children. It's cool, be fine working yourself to death for 10.00 an hour, 16 hours a day...but the price of shit has gone up so high that you can't expect the system to automatically curve toward making the lives of the worker bees easier. Whoever decides real shit in this country/world isn't going to make things easier on the worker bees until it looks like they'll collapse, and only then they'll give them just enough so that it looks like water in a drought but never makes them revolt for something more.

Why should we grateful for the fact that over time people are being asked to do more work for less pay? Why would anyone be thankful that they spend every waking hour working just to "get by" when a little sacrifice by the people far above them on the food chain could allow them to actually live a little with the money they've made?

Who does that former marine think is going to pay for any uninsured illness or bills he can't pay if he gets sick?

If it takes 70 hours of labor to "get by" with no insurance, what happens if he breaks an arm?

I keep asking these questions, and still don't get any decent response by the market worshippers, whose "suck it up" answers always glibly gloss over the fact that we all end up paying for it anyways, using inefficient market mechanisms.
