View Full Version : Cowboys worst team in Dallas?

Pelicans78

Listen, I still think the Cowboys are a very good team, but overall where do they stand in the Metroplex?

Obviously Mavs and Rangers. Champs and possibly future champs.

Dallas Stars are in 1st in their division.

Even FC Dallas of the MLS have clinched the playoffs.

Where does that leave the Cowboys?

To be honest, its a sick time to be a fan in the Metroplex. Every team is doing well. The Cowboys have the sickest stadium in the world. Even TCU and SMU are having success in football.

Romo looks very timid and unsure. He isn't good enough to play timid and still be effective. He needs a few big plays to get comfortable.

Spursfan092120

Was not expecting a defensive battle in this game. If Romo can wake up, we might have a chance in this one.

He's (Felix) battling his butt off, but it's not a winning play against NE. It looks like JG is afraid of what Romo is doing which does not bode well for anyone.

I hope this season can put the "Who's the best QB!?!?!?!?!? Brady or Manning!!!!!!" discussions to bed. Neither one of these guys are close to the best QB anymore. Rogers is on track to take a shit on both of their careers.

:lol as I said in the other thread, Baltimore-New England are the clear top 2 IMO, but they are both very flawed teams..which speaks volumes on the teams from 3-6, to round out the playoffs, none of them look great..

This is the NFL with Tom Brady in a 2 minute drill. Soft d's, great throws, marching down the field.

Cowboys went too conservative and it will cost them. Complete lack of balls IMO when you are playing great and have a chance to kill the game.

He had so many chances to ice the game but he called bullshit calls on the goal line and right there to end the game.

The one game you can actually make a case for Romo to throw a bit more (given the Pats' crappy pass defense), and what do the Cowgirls do? Almost no passes thrown at that cretin Dez Bryant in the 2nd half, and trying shovel passes in the endzone :lmao

"You have to run the ball in that situation because of the time situation," said Garrett, who trusted his defense to keep stopping the Patriots if it had to. "It's one of the best offenses in the league. You're challenging your defense, no doubt about it."

I think running the ball in the last possession was the right thing to do, but too much focus has been placed on that possession anyway. With as good as Dallas' defense had played up to that point, they should not have been in the position to have to protect only a 20-16 lead. The real problem was the failure to score more in the games earlier possessions.

Fabbs
10-17-2011, 01:12 PM
1st and 2nd down one could (somewhat) justify as it forced the Pats to use a timeout and then the 2 minute warning. The third down stuffed run in no way can be justified.

Agree the red zone receiver drops earlier is what made the game close. Romo actually played well. Ironic that the coach chose to make him inactive on the final series. Bottom line it was "playing not to lose" rather then playing to win.
Unacceptable from a vet franchise with a 6 year vet QB and a supposedly solid coach (who lost me with that game and the Jets choke).

What is Dallas Fan and Dallas Sports Media saying?

Bill_Brasky
10-17-2011, 01:14 PM
The Cowboys offense couldnt punch it in all game against a TERRIBLE pats pass defense, because tony romo has lost the confidence of his coach. The playcalling on the last drive where they had it in the rz they didnt throw into the end zone ONCE. I dont like when receivers go all diva and start complaining but dez had every right to, he had single coverage on a guy way smaller than him and they went with a fuckin SHOVEL pass......fuck that shit.
