Not sure why Lakerfan gets so sensitive when the subject of JJ Barea is brought up...

tbh, I think it's a pretty fair comparison... JJ, the up and coming talent that just ringed vs Kobe the seasoned vet on the decline...

On a serious note, at the moment Kobe is slightly better due to his size and scoring ability. Kobe can still put teams on his back every 10 or so regular season games.

But if Barea keeps rising and Kobe keeps declining, by game 10 of next season Barea would be my pick.

In all seriousness the same thing could be said about JJ and Duncan tbh, although it's more like about once every 25 or so regular season games for Jim that he can carry his team now. No shame in that for Jim though given his advanced age. JJ is clearly a rising star who should take the league by storm if they ever play another season. I expect JJ to be firmly entrenched as the #1b option on the Mavs next year with Dirk being 1a of course.
