It's the fracking. Fracking is known to cause small earthquakes. And Karnes City area is the epicenter of the new drilling (fracking) in the Eagle Ford.

Isn't SA on the Balcones Fault? I believe I heard that on the tour of Natural Bridge Caverns. Don't have time to look it up right now..

There are lots of old faults in the area due to the uplift that caused the escarpment but I don't think any of them are active.

Looks like it was actually subsidence and not uplift.

i was driving during that time and all the maniac-late to their job-drivers were swerving on the road already so didn't notice anything out of the ordinary...

Wake me up when it exceeds 6.0. A 6.0 is 25 times more violent.

Thank you for letting us know how the scale works. I am sure there is someone here who is unaware. However, no one is pointing to its strength. They are pointing to the fact that it actually happened.
