just become the new Conference USA, take half the Conf. USA teams, and the name. and they're going to have to invite a few more western teams too, cause the conference has to make a little bit of sense geographically, otherwise it will just fall apart after it loses it's AQ status
East:

East Carolina

Houston
Southern Miss
SMU
Tulsa
BSU
BYU
Air Force
SDSU
could break it up into "pods" and reduce the amount of conference games and travel even more. 7 conference games allows all the the benefit of a conference but still gives the teams some good scheduling flexibility for nearby opponents.
