I'm not a facebook user, but I'd be willing to bet that there's some terms of use document that people have to check off that they've read and agree with in order to create their account. I'm sure there's language in there about facebook having the right to sell certain info. I'm sure hardly anyone bothers to read that stuff, but that's not facebook's fault. You click the box saying "i agree", you've consented to whatever's in there whether you bothered to read it or not.

Right. Thanks for proving my point. Facebook users consent to whatever info Zuckerberg is sharing about them, corporations have not consented to whaetever info Assange is sharing about them.


Other than a logical fail over the concept of consent, this would be an interesting thought...

Various fb apps have dialogue boxes stating that information is shared with third parties if you use the app. If you use the app, you consent to the sharing.
