This is not NFL related. Its music related, so I put this in the Club Forum.

Thanksgiving is the most American of holidays. It's full of tradition and favorites like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. And every year the Detroit Lions host (and frequently lose) the NFL's Thanksgiving Classic. But it isn't the prospect of having to face the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers that has Lions fans growling mad about this year's event, it's the halftime act.
Bing: More on Nickelback
An overly-concerned fan has started an online petition to scrap Nickelback as the musical interlude between the second and third quarters. To date the petition has secured more than 20,000 signatures.
Tell us on Facebook: Do you agree or disagree with Detroit Lions fans?
As for the organizer's rationale:
"This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the U.S. to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime."
More: Marilyn Manson sings Justin Timberlake tracks in Las Vegas
If that wasn't harsh enough welcome for the Canadian band, the comments by petition signees are brutal.
A person listed as Taylor Bittner writes, "Nickelback is the worst group ever. I don't want to be sitting around with my family and have to listen to even more annoying people."
Of course, Lions fans have had a tough go of it during the Turkey Day game: Detroit is just 1-9 over last 10 years, and they have a lifetime Thanksgiving winning percentage of just .479.
