As we are finding out, a New Jersey race in 2013 (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/motor/formula1/story/2011-10-24/formula-one-comes-to-new-jersey/50897052/1) had long been secretly in the works and was being negotiated for June that year. We were never going to have a June race in 2012 or any year thereafter (yet that was the reason Council had to quickly approve contracts that weren't yet written), and it's now questionable we are going to have a 2012 race at all, as noted by Autoweek (http://www.autoweek.com/article/20111113/F1/111119950): "There might not be an F1 race in Texas in 2012, and there might not be a track for the series to race on."http://www.austinpost.org/content/f1-gentleman-stop-your-engines-we-were-duped-0
