When looking at the list you forget sometimes in the European prospects that the Spurs have drafted and or acquired in trades that are stashed.

Parker is playing pretty good so far. Sad to see that ASVEL is not in Euroleague.
And from the rest of this guys only Lorbek is an NBA material, I would even say that he's a better player than Tiago.

Saw a game against Valencia, played really great.

What i hate about this lockout is how out of whack the entire euro club scene is because of it. You have superstars in crappy clubs who broke the bank to get them (which can go back to being crappy the moment lockout ends). Plus small budget teams are completely fucked.

That n1gga Lorbek tearing it up in Euroleague and Spanish league. Clearly the best player of Barcelona this year. But the Spurs have ginger wonder Bonner playing his position so he won't come over...

Richards and Bertans are very young players who are far away of having the NBA level. They won't play for Spurs before years However, depending on what new rules about the D-League will be in the new CBA, Richards could soon play with the Toros in Austin.

De Colo will be a free agent next summer. If he wants to be signed by Spurs, he will need to have a very good season with Valencia. He is a NBA talent but he lacks of consistency. Spurs' choice will also depend on how well their guards will play this year (if there is a season).

Lorbek is so far the best player in Barcelona which is probably the best club in Europe. His only problem is rebounding, other than that he's a perfect fit for the Spurs.

I was happy to see Splitter play. He was pretty good and he already knows the Spanish league so he will be OK in Valencia.

Bertans still needs time, one game he scores 10 points and the next 5 games he won't score at all. He's still young so no rush.

Green is playing hot/cold. I think Europe rules effect his game a lot.

He's doing well statistically, but in a really shitty league. He should have stayed with Gran Canaria.

The best Spurs player in Europe continues to be Vassilis Spanoulis. Really, he has played every bit as well, if not better than Parker has.

:lol 9 turnovers last week
:lol shitty greek team 4th in their group
:lol can't get anywhere without Teodosic

Vassal Spaniels was never a Spurs player, never had the chance to become one and never will be. and there is a reason. it would have been a disgrace to see him in black and white. luckily FO realized that in time and waived him before camp. that guy would have been to the Spurs what Greece is for the EU.

Wrong. The Spurs wanted him and asked him to stay. He also just gave an interview where he said he would return to the Spurs if they asked him to after next year.

I'm on your ignorer list retard.

European league games of this week:

Valencia vs. Ostende: W 75-62
Splitter: 15pts (6/6FG, 3/4FT), 3rbds, 16eff in 21min
De Colo: 11pts, 8 fouls drawn, 15eff in 34min

Union Olimpija @ Barcelona: L 46-72
Green: 10pts, 5rbds, 9eff in 20min
Bertans: 0pts, 1eff in 17min
Lorbek: 4pts, 7rbds, 8eff in 21min

I've watched the game at Barcelona, some thoughts:
- It was a blowout and the whole last quarter was garbage time.
- Lorbek was quiet offensively. Barcelona didn't need him to score and he was doubled in the post. He had a couple of nice moves to remind people how skilled he was.
- Green started really well with some nice drives and some off the dribble mid-range jumper. After that, his whole team decided that their only system was to put the ball in Green's hand and let him do the work. Green logically failed at that. Defensively, I've found him bad with some mistakes done.
- Aside of a great block on Vasquez, Bertans did nothing on the court in 17 minutes. He fired and missed a couple of shots from way behind the 3 point line. He is definitely a crazy shooter. He played SF and PF and runs well the court. I'm also a little concerned with his knees: he had a knee injury last summer and wears knee pads.

Parker with ASVEL (win against Strasbourg) :
23 pts, 8/16, 7 ass, 5 reb

He said it was his last game with ASVEL.
He will not play another game with ASVEL to avoid injury even if he don't receive the order from the nba to come back before the next game

Smart move by Parker. He will have 1 month of rest before the start of the regular season. This break will allow him to be fresh to start a crazy NBA season.

The timing of the end of the lockout sucks for Da'Sean Butler. He made a big trip in Latvia just to play one game where he played 2min43s (0pt, 1rbd). After a year and a half off, playing some weeks in Europe would have helped him. Making the training camp cut won't be easy for him.

There's still two weeks until start of training camp. He can probably get a couple of more games in.

It makes little sense for his team to keep him.

Tiago did play for Valencia today. (he played pretty well, 15+9)
I wonder if this was his last game, or if he stays in Spain till start of training camp.
Fernandez for example didn't play today. (Ibaka played). don't know if he is injured, or if he decided like Tony not to play any more games in Europe when he learned there will be a 2011-12 nba season.

Manu Forever - if I defer to your superior knowledge of Euroleague players re. Spanoulis...

would he really come over to San Antonio to be our second string PG? that seems weird for someone with established talent. And a weird move for the Spurs unless he's really cheap (actually, I suppose that's entirely possible with the financial situation in Greece right now)

De Colo has been impressive this last month, Bruno. Getting better and better, focused and leading his team, if he keeps this level... Maybe NBA-ready, maybe.

By the way, I'd love to see Ayón in a Spurs' uniform, he's killin' it in Spain (34+11 yesterday) -- #1 in eff overall.

He got more playing time with Claver's injury. I agree with you that De Colo is a little in a grey area. He isn't that far from being a player Spurs should try to sign. With Hill gone and with Manu aging, Spurs certainly could use his playmaking skills in the future.

Being serious for a sec... for as much shit as we give KBP, V-Span would be a definite upgrade over Neal/Joseph as Tony's backup. But I don't see why he would want to play in the NBA now, when he wanted nothing more than to go back to Greece a few years ago.

Did they have to sell all their goats to pay back their German masters?

Splitter played his last game for Valencia yesterday. pretty good overall (19 and 9 in a loss vs. Real Madrid).
might turn out that a few games in Europe (3 games ACB and 2 games Eurocup) was the best way to get in game shape. Tiago looked good and rebounded well. should help Tiago to establish his spot in the rotation (starting spot?) already at the start of the season.

To avoid the possibility of being paid in Drachma next season?

And, just to be clear, the amount of shit we give KBP is nowhere near the amount of shit he brings to us. Just saying.
