View Full Version : Should the NBA give up on New Orleans?

ElNono

How long can they run that team thinking they can con some guy with money into buying in that shitty team?

tbh, it might be time to relocate to a better city like Kentucky and go from there.

Thoughts?

a better city like Kentucky

son Kentucky is a state.

The Hornets have over 10,000 season ticket holders and despite being the smallest market, they are far from the worst.

the Hornets turn over more revenue than six teams ...

Charlotte
Indiana
Minnesota
Memphis
Milwaukee
New Jersey

the Hornets turn over more profit than nine teams ...

Atlanta
Dallas
Denver
Charlotte
Indiana
Minnesota
New Jersey
Orlando
Sacramento

so if the NBA should "give up" on a team or two or three, then they should start with one of those top six first.

Why u mad, son? It's clear that if they could turn a profit, there would be owners lining up to buy it.

Maybe it's the fact the arena could end up underwater at any given time. It's a risky investment, tbh.

lol u mad at all the Duncan hate so you take it out on Hornets

the owners weren't lining up to buy the Hornets because for over a year everyone has known that a lockout could occur. that is the sole reason why minority owner Gary Chouest backed out almost a year ago. now that we are in the clear, the Hornets will have a new owner within the next month. watch

lol son I already dropped the hot fire facts on you proving that the Hornets are far from being the worst team (financially) in the NBA. I provided you with hot fire facts that included a link to Forbes showing that there are at least 6 other teams below the Hornets who the NBA should consider "giving up on" if they are going to do so. Indiana would be my first choice simply because that is a state that likes to call themselves a "basketball state", yet the Pacers are consistently at the bottom in attendance and finances.

son the Hornets ownership situation came at a bad time because of the fear of a lockout. Not many billionaires out there want to invest $300M into a team when a lockout was very likely to happen right after their investment. Should Major League Baseball just give up on the Los Angeles Dodgers because of their ownership issue as well with them stepping in and taking over?

ElNono
11-27-2011, 02:23 AM
^ Don't disagree that some other teams should be folded as well... But, at least those other teams have found an owner... Even the shitty Nets...

BRHornet45
11-27-2011, 02:28 AM
son like I said... the lockout scared away the potential owners for the Hornets. Gary Chouest was days away from taking over majority ownership and then the oil spill happened (his business was affected by it) and the lockout talk started heating up. The Nets ownership is irrelevant mainly because that Russian dude bought them over 2 years ago before the lockout talk even began. Regardless now that the lockout talk is over, the Hornets will have an owner within the next month. watch.

ElNono
11-27-2011, 02:31 AM
tbh, the NBA missed putting it out there on a fire sale last Black Friday, maybe they can do a Christmas sale package... Charlotte and New Orleans for the price of one...

Over 10,000 season ticket holders? Why do their stands always look half empty everytime I see them on tv.

probably because a lot of the rich folk with season tickets don't show up to many of the games. that is a common problem with all teams when the ticket holders in the lower bowl of arenas don't show up it looks bad on tv. some not so bad, but some are terrible like Miami.

Why are you seething with madness son? We're talking Hornets here.
Spurs do have an ownership.

Will Capt West walking make it harder to sell the team?

Also, didn't the arena lease become void after not fulfilling the 14K+ attendance last season?
