First off Spur fan - A once proud fan base has relegated itself to a hard stone cold reality and now spend their time hoping , wishing , praying about nothing but LA's demise.

They say in life the beginning of anything is kind of scary, the ending is sad but the middle is where you find some measure of happiness. Well the happy times for the SPurs are over and they're now in the final Stages of the end.

They now live vicariously through the Mavs, the league rules, anything that gives them hope of Kobe not pulling further away from 5>4...but it's a done deal Spur fan deal with that Shit...

It's Lakers destiny...another Laker fan said this:

Despite league rules The hundreds of millions of dollars the Lakers will get for their TV, radio and cable deals will necessitate the team will keep a marketable product on the floor. There is enough money with the media money, the ticket prices and, product marketing to keep the Lakers in the realm of the big spenders in the NBA.

Plus the league obviously needs a playoff caliber/championship contender in Los Angeles. It seems fans across the country and around the world either love or love to hate LA and the Lakers have been and seem destined to be the glamour team of the league.

In laymans terms...the Lakers will be forced to take the tax penalty hit in order to keep that billion dollar deal in effect. They'll pay maybe upwards of 50 million in penalties if it means they can remain Showtime...for now you clowns will have to deal with that reality and if time doesn't bear that out well then we can talk about it later... but for now...

deal with that shit SPur fan ...:toast

I don't think so, Kool. The spirit of the new CBA is etched. Buss can see it. I think he'll spend the 2 year grace period getting the money right and making the transition from the old to the new.

Kool, I honestly though you were joking before...
In laymans terms... you don't know shit.

Hell, the Lakers can spend 500m in luxury if they want, it won't change the fact they are NOW over the cap anyway, so first they have to get rid of players, in order to sign new ones. Basically, you and that Laker fan you quoted have no idea what they talking about.

Because the Knicks' media money package necessitated that they keep a marketable team.

Great monkey logic.
