OMG if we could get Nene...and not give up Duncan, Manu, Tony, Hill, or Blair...anyone else is fair game.

Nene would be nice.
But he is a unrestricted free agent
To work it would have to be a sign and trade. The Spurs have nothing that Denver would desire.

ok, after i wrote that i agree we give up either Blair or Hill, our two best prospects. Hard to say which one is more expendable - Blair is young, and plays PF and could (sort of) fill Timmy's shoes in a few years. Hill is our best defender, but plays a more easily replaceable position. But I agree, we have to give up one of them. I also agree we may not have enough to offer.

Tony Parker would probably be far better than any other sign-and-trade deal the Nuggets could ever get.

That's a headscratcher for me. I don't think it's worth giving up Parker for Nene, mainly because it leaves the roster with no PG. It's still intriguing, though. Would they be willing to include Ty Lawson?

Before someone says this in a harsher fashion: the Spurs already traded George Hill. They can't trade him again.

That, and Blair is definitely expendable if it means getting Nene.

I'm surprised by the lack of hostility in this thread. I nearly wanted to go apeshit myself.

Would love to see Nene here. If we could trade Hill from Indy to Denver to complete the Nene deal, that would be Epic!

Not a headscratcher. Should be a no-brainer. Parker is past his prime. Every year that he loses a half step, he exponentiallly drops in effectiveness. He can't shoot the three and isn't a real floor leader that can consistently make good assists.

Nene has plenty of great years ahead.

Also Blair sucks balls, he's nothing special and we've already probably seen the limits of his talents. He is far from untradeable and is actually probably one of our better assets.

I can't decide if we should throw in Roger Mason for Nene. It might be worth it.

Nene, born 09/13/1982
Tony Parker, born 05/17/1982

I'm still scratching my head...

LOL I forgot about that. Apparently the lockout came with a good dose of amnesia.

Damn it. I *might* be willing to part with Parker if they gave us Lawson as well.

You have seen the last few NBA seasons right?

Parker's only advantage is his quickness which he loses daily.
Even when Nene starts to slow down, he's still going to be a very tall, very strong black man.

I agree. Parker is also proven more durable. Nene didn't play for most of his first few years due to injury, big men are more likely to fall apart in their 30's whereas PGs can often player for longer. I think it's too risk to give up Parker for Nene, and ESPECIALLY if we don't get Lawson in the trade.

Maybe we can draft Hill next year after he goes back to college and enters the NBA Draft again. then we could trade Duncan (after he retires) for George Gervin!

Blair is definitely expendable period. He's a scrub and a defensive liability, like all of our big men. No more 6'7" PF/Cs.

I've loved Nene ever since he served it up to the US in the 2000 Olympics. Ship anyone for him, although Blair/RJ/Bonner would be ideal. Hate to lose Grizzly, but Nene is a better all-around player and one of the toughest defenders in the league.
