They had "Eyes Wide Shut" on the cable last week. He's fine in that, a stern hint of the boy still evident with the man starting to emerge.

But, I agree with you, his later stuff is haphazard & rampages as if he were uncertain of his place or talent.

I like the MI franchise.
Not a fan of the new work because I like the original TV series (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060009/). Making Phelps the bad guy killed it for me on the first one.
