Start it the 2nd week of December, Championship Game on New Year's night at alternating major-bowl sites.

Would love a playoff system for college football, but a 16 team playoff seems pretty ambitious. Even if they cut a game off the regular season and dispensed with conference championship games, that's 15 games.

I think it would have to be baby steps at first. Maybe a 4 game playoff. There will still be plenty of issues with who is the 4th or 5th best team who gets that chance, but that's better than deciding between #2 and #3. And then maybe expand to 8 games.

A 16 team playoff seems like such a big jump too soon.

Thats what I always thought would be damn near perfect, too.

Its always one, maybe two teams every year that probably deserve to play in the NC game but arent for one reason or another.

Top4 teams. 3 games, one champion. Incorporate into the bowl season if that suits the sponsors, but get it done already.

Take the top 4 BCS ranked conference champions and let them play it out.

Who's got a legitimate gripe about being left out if you had LSU, OkState, Oregon and Boise State play it out?

Alabama and Stanford don't have a legitimate gripe since not only did they not win their conference, they lost to LSU & Oregon.

Wisconsin may bitch about Boise State playing in an easier conference, but Wisconsin is a 2 loss team. No case for them.

Everyone else has 2 losses or more. No case for them.
