A healthy Oden probably is all they need to win it all.

Paul Allen will match the offer.

POR already offered him an 8.8M qualifying offer. MIA could only offer (w/ some maneuvering) the full MLE starting at 5M for 4 years. I'm not quite sure how it works, but that would only be about 4M per year for the next 3 years for POR to offer which is really cheap.

tbh Oden might be more obliged to accept a multi-year deal than the 1 year qualifying offer considering his injury-speckled past.

Sure, but POR would match it.

I thought Allen wanted to strip the team to sell it?

Oden is injury prone. This "if he is healthy" talk is all bullshit. That is like saying if Yao was healthy. Dalembert is who they need to sign.

Now THIS would make me nervous - not Dalembert. Good think Paul Allen's pockets are DEEP. :tu

:lol It is time to move on. Your team isn't the best anymore. Baron Davis/Rashard Lewis won't make you any better especially on D.

Don't be so sure about that. Offense was never the Lakers' problem. Now we have a young, energetic, defense-first coach on the sidelines. Plus the Lakers were embarrassed by the Mavs last year. They will come into this season with something to prove.
You just make sure that the Hype live up to their end of the bargain and meet us in the Finals because we know no team in the WC is keeping us out of the Finals. :toast
My avatar stays until LeHype wins one. I have a feeling it might be a permanent avatar. :downspin:

They were there last season you idiot.
A health Oden and were now looking at Lebron's "not one, not two" scenario. Nuclear winter for the rest of the NBA.

You want props for making it to the Finals? :lol

Just pointing the fact out they did live up to their end of the bargain. Lakers swept in the second round...

Lakers swept in the second round...
Pro tip: Repeat first, get swept second
Rather than guaranteeing 8 championships and then losing in the finals to a virgin franchise

The HEAT just wanted another star you can't count on when you need them most ... :lol
All jokes aside, that is the kind of low-risk move that could help the heat dominate. with little help inside they made it to the Finals ...with Oden maybe they win 2 more games ...
I will say this the spotlight in Miami will be harsh. For a guy coming off the injuries he has, it would probably be in HIS best interest if he went to a team that did not need major contributions right away ...but ALO werent leading Sportscenter nightly.Hawks getting ODen and moving Horford to PF or Golden state who could use Bedrins until Greg is healthy and don't need him to score ...

They should choose their wording a little more carefully. Oden could bust a knee just reading the word "run".
