I agree, especially since there isn't a team in the AFC that looks to be even a remote challenge for GB in the superbowl.

what sucks is that the 07 Patriots peaked midseason and were playing like ass the entire playoffs and still almost went undefeated.

Midseason 07 Patriots would shit all over any team in football history, guaranteed. Unfortunately Postseason 07 Patriots licked scrotum.

Giants said hi today...GB just kind of gave them that look that you give an ex girlfriend when you're wondering "What the fuck was I thinking" and walked past them. NY went home and cried and drank Drano. They were never heard from again.

Fuck that. If we can't go perfect, I'm hating on anyone else trying to do it.

Literally don't see how the Packers can lose. I guess if a team harasses Rodgers all day long while still putting up 30+ points it could happen.

GB defense isn't all that great tbh, if Rodgers has one off day anything can happen. Even if he doesn't the Saints can hang with them.

The stadium was so quiet during the last 50 seconds of that game you could almost hear a season drop, I said.

Yes, those "off-days" from Rodgers are an ever-growing concern for the Packers

I think there's only one team who "could" beat them, but that would require a certain mongoloid QB to play mistake-free football.

The best scenario, apart from my Pats winning it all, would be Tebow leading the Bronco to a SB victory over the Packers.

Mainly because the entire internet sports world would explode.

Midseason 07 Wes Welker

week 8: 9 rec 89 yds 1 TD

week 9: 5 rec 38 yds 1 TD

week 10: bye

week 11: 7 rec 78 yds

week 12: 13 rec 149 yds

:cry If only Brady had stopped forcing it to Welker.

Alex Smith is not winning in Lambeau. There are very few sure-things in life, but that's one of them.

^ Understandable. The Packers "D" isn't great, but has shown it is "good enough". If the line can give Smith some time (unlike the piss poor effort vs. the Ravens) and the defense plays well, then I think the 49'ers have a pretty good shot.

The playoffs are where the teams with "game managers" at QB get exposed by the teams with studs at QB.

^Example being the Atlanta Falcons.

0-2 with Matt Ryan in the playoffs because he's a glorified "game manager"

There lots of examples of game managers winning in the playoffs. Brad Smith, Dilfer, Roethlisberger (back when he was a game manager), Eli the year he won it was a GM, Grossman got to the superbowl, Plummer (or was it Orton) beat Brady, Sanchez won some games, etc, etc.

DeadlyDynasty
12-09-2011, 08:29 PM
Dilfer beat brian griese, rich gannon, steve mcnair, and kerry collins
Johnson beat jeff garcia, donovan mcnabb, and rich gannon
Plummer didnt even win his conference, and grossman got his ass handed to him by a star qb, like joetait said.

If you think Alex Smith can win in Lambeau against Rodgers, then i dont know what to tell you.

Well, where were the studs QB when all those lesser QBs played each other?

Unless the Saints run the ball down the Packers throat, I don't see them winning in Lambeau. That's the only advantage the Saints have.

Read Joetait's post. The 'playoffs' are where stud qbs almost always prevail over lesser ones. Your post just deflects from that, since the examples you gave were qbs who beat other so-so/crap qbs.

Just for the hell of it, here were your playoff starters those years:

2000:

McNair, Gannon, Fiedler, Dilfer, Griese, and Manning. Manning was the 6th seed with a horrendous defense that gave up 200+ rushing yards to Lamar Smith (who?) in the playoffs :rollin

Collins, Culpepper, Brooks, McNabb, King, and Warner. Warner was the 6th seed with the worst defense in the league that year.

2002:

Gannon, McNair, Pennigton, Maddox, Holcomb, Manning.

McNabb, Johnson, Garcia, Collins, Favre, Vick.

Pretty weak qb pool, and the few great ones had to play road games.

Now you have Alex Smith--who's been dogshit for 7 years--having to go on the road against the best QB in the NFL on his turf. Green Bay's defense gives up a ton of yards, but they also lead the league in forcing turnovers.

Green Bay would skullfuck the 49ers. In fact i'd be willing to bet that san fran doesnt win a playoff game this year.

Just look at the Steelers pre-Big Ben. They always had great defenses, great o-lines, great running games and they won a ton of games during the regular season. Then they'd get to the playoffs and get beat by teams with comparable talent and superior quarterback play- Elway, Brady, etc.

No coincidence that the Steelers made one SB appearance between Bradshaw and Big Ben and three after they acquired Big Ben.

Of course it helps to have a great QB, and that the team with the better QB usually win more games but it isn't such a sure thing as you are trying to make it seem.

green bay is good enough the refs do not need to hand them the wins

their home field is going to fuck them over. their pass game will suffer like it did in the nfc championship game last year and their defense will not bail them out.

but suh will probably go ape shit and break aaron rodgers leg on the last game of the season if they choose to pursue perfection.

Green Bay can lose. They can lose at home, too.

Just probably won't be to San Francisco.

Saints would have a puncher's chance, IMO.
