I heard rumors they were trying to go after both CP3 and D12 but I thought it was just bullshit...My Laker Brass ain't fucking around...They're trying to unload Bynum and Gasol...a line-up of Kobe, Dwight and CP3 is insane...just fucking insane...

The Lakers and Hornets talked several days ago, league sources told Yahoo! Sports, but the sides were left unclear with what it would take to get a deal done involving Chris Paul. The two teams are expected to talk again this week, say sources.

The idea of Pau Gasol being the primary player going to the Hornets won't be acceptable, according to sources.
But the Lakers will ultimately allow the Hornets to pick between Gasol and Andre Bynum.

Talks are serious. I'm surprised the Lakers would be willing to trade Gasol for CP3. I wouldn't mind having Gasol I guess. Him and Okafor in the frontcourt would be fine. Sign Landry as a backup I guess. Use additional cap room to sign a wing scorer. 45 win ectasy!

The Lakers can definitely get Chris Paul.

But there's just no way in hell they'd get D12.
Be happy that yall can even get CP3.

Moving Gasol seems a bit much...esp. if they're moving Bynum to get Dwight. I guess Odom would man the 4 spot. CP3/Kobe/World/Odom/Dwight?

Dump ass trade for the Hornets. We all know what a team with Gasol as the #1 looks like. If the Hornets are set to get rid of Paul go younger. If I'm New Orleans there is nothing the Lakers currently have that interest me.

I can't see it being for Pau. From the article:

"The prospect of Pau Gasol as the primary player going to the Hornets won’t be acceptable, sources said. The Lakers will ultimately be willing to let New Orleans pick its player in the deal – Bynum or Gasol – but New Orleans is determined to get quality, and quantity, in a deal."

LA can get one or the other IMO and it will require giving up Bynum and likely Odom. They will have to choose, because whomever Bynum goes to, the other team won't accept an aging Pau as the piece.

The Hornets would have tons of cap room to add to Gasol. They wouldn't be a great team, but they would be a relevant team.

Relevant in what sense? 8th seed relevant?

What makes you think you will get Gasol out off this deal. You know that we are use to raw dicking teams. Im thinking Bynum and Blake.

If the deal does come to that then the Lakers have indeed dicked the fuck out of the Hornets:lol

Pretty much unless the team got lucky and drafted a franchise player somehow. Its hard winning without a franchise player and its hard to acquire a franchise player.

its exploratory as in hey we are interested and then NO says ok we'll get back to you when things are clearer. now marc stein and broussard are saying they want to get rid of him before the season. plenty of teams lining up as rentals. think the clips are the team but damn as a rental would the hornets do it. they wont get either gordon or blake. i mean thats not much value. bledsoe the minesotta pick are nice but giving huge money to jordan isnt that great since you alrady have okafor unless they convince them to swap okafor for kaman.

Dont even trip. Stern will make sure you get that number one lottery pick just like he did for the Cavs.

Not if there in the 8th seed. If I'm the Hornets I would at least try to get as many draft picks as I could get. Getting a player to clear up cap space is not a good solution for a team in a very small market. Even if you do manage to clear up cap space there are not hoards of FAs willing to sign there.

Honestly, the Warriors and Clippers are the teams the Hornets want to trade with.

Oh, I thought you guys were just joking about them making the 8th seed. I dont think Paul wants to play in LA. I'd prefer Howard.

I'd prefer Howard as well and its realistic too. Would you be willing to trade Bynum and Gasol? I think I would.

Sure, they have young assets. Monta/Curry/Biedrins....Gordon/Jordan/Aminu...draft picks.

Roddy B isn't a great asset :lol just because Cuban says so. He might turn into one, but the odds of that not happening are every bit as good as it actually happening.

They would trade for a rental because they know they wouldn't have to give anything up to get him :lol

Pelicans78

Hornets wouldn't take Biedrins. I think the Clippers thing could happen if CP3 wants to sign a long-term extension.

DPG21920
12-05-2011, 08:13 PM
Asking me is kind of a give away. Of course I would. You would have to give us a bit more than Howard due to the outgoing salary. From my understanding the salaries don't have to match up ask much under this new deal, so, I'd take Bass and Howard for Pau and Bynum.

They do for LA since they are in the luxury tax, but they didn't go down it just remained the same as before whereas non-tax teams now have more room.

DPG21920
12-05-2011, 08:15 PM
but has CP3 said he would take a trade to the clippers?

No, but that's the point. NO would rather deal with Clips or GS because of the young assets and draft picks, but if CP3 won't sign, they won't give up as much.

DPG21920
12-05-2011, 08:16 PM
Hornets wouldn't take Biedrins. I think the Clippers thing could happen if CP3 wants to sign a long-term extension.

Why not? He is still a young big man. But they still have plenty of young guys to trade in Monta/Wright/Curry/Lee...If CP3 said he would extend, they could get something where they get good young players and a draft pick and give up Paul plus a bad contract.

how eager would NO do it if gordon isnt included. as of now with a rental they wont give him up.

Yes. Clippers more than GS. I can see him really wanting to play with Blake Griffin.

They wouldn't do it if Gordon isn't included IMO. It's either CP3 says I'll sign and they do it, or no deal.

Will the NBA make a smart trade for CP3 or gift CP3 to somebody?

Grow up, gd it. I'm serious. Look at the man. He's inordinately thick between back & chest. That's an advantage and I'm sure he uses it in the paint.

they will bring CP3 to their homecourt. of course i mean the Knicks. They finally have a chance to make the NBA's largest market a winner again. they wont pass up that chance.

No he doesn't want to play in LA...he's a Lebron nut hugger all the way...something could change his mind though...we'll see...but most def I prefer Howard if it came down to it...I think with Pau and Howard we'd have our own nice big 3...minus the once a month bleeding that Pau will do...:lol
