Non-issue. Stanford definitely has a case as a better team than Oklahoma State.

Iowa fucking State. 'nuff said.

Stanford/Okie Light will be the goods though.

Let's see... what is worse...

a team that has had one of the toughest schedules in the nation, beating a number of ranked teams through the season, having an unfortunate mental letup on the road against a team that they should beat (which happens to even the best of teams), and just dealt with a terrible school disaster a day or so before.

or

a team that had a shit schedule all season, and in their only loss, had 2 full weeks to prepare for the biggest game of the college football season, AT HOME, and completely laid an egg against the team that will be there in the national championship game.

Team 1 has 100000000000x more of a legit case to be in there than team 2.

stretch you're my boy and all but this is incorrect.

Okie State's schedule was only slightly tougher than Alabama's... by my estimates their quality wins were Oklahoma, Baylor, and KSU while Bama's were Arkansas and Penn State. and of the 5 teams, Arkansas is probably the best or right up there with Oklahoma.

Texas is on the same level as Florida/Vanderbilt in the SEC, so let's just exclude all 3 teams from the discussion.

The school disaster is irrelevant. It's Iowa, fucking, State. To make matters worse, they choked a 17 point lead. Iowa State is a 5-6 team if you exclude their win against D1AA shit team (by 1 point, mind you).

Having 2 weeks to prepare for the best team in college football and losing by 3 in OT in a game Bama could've very easily won is not something to be ashamed of. Losing to a dogshit Iowa State team is.

Doesn't matter. Alabama already lost to LSU. That's it & that's all. They don't deserve another shot under this format.

according to BCS, strength of schedule for Okie State was around 6th, while Bama was around 23rd.

I wouldn't quite say it was just slightly tougher. It was undoubtedly tougher. Which is evident by the fact that when you compare the two losses, the BCS obviously is going to penalize Okie State WAYYYYY more because they lost to an unranked opponent, yet they still were beaten out by Bama by less than .01%. That's due to the FAR tougher SOS.

Everyone can have their own perspective on how the losses should be percieved. IMO, Bama had their chance, and had the PERFECT situation to be in, and still fucking blew it. Okie State deserved a chance.

And Alabama absolutely SHOULD be ashamed of their loss. That was a PERFECT situation, and all signs pointed to Alabama winning that game, yet they didn't. Either they should be ashamed that they didn't play to their potential, or be ashamed that they actually had the gall to think they deserved to be given the #1 ranking, prior to that disaster of a game.

If Saban and other coaches didn't vote dishonestly, OK State would be in the national championship game. We all know that.

Having the coaching poll included in the BCS voting is a joke.
This just confirms that.

Blame the system, not Saban and the others.

I hate the system too. But under this bullshit system, Bama deserves to be in.

cause

WE STAAAAAAAAAAACKED

When Stanford beats Okie State and Bama beats LSU there will be no debate. Bama, undisputed national champions.

Will 'Bama fans be chanting S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C when they lose to LSU?
