I say Butler.

Maybe this will be a lopsided poll, but I'm curious.

Butler....

Both coming off injuries. Would really rather the big man situation be solved first, but I would take Caron first. Then Prince. Then Howard.

Butler, but I wish the poll had more options. Prince, Battier, etc.

Caron. Still a gamble either way. But Caron's ball IQ IMO is much higher.

You should have prince and battier in the poll.

I'm holding out for the "I'd throw Kawhi Leonard into the fire right away" option.

both are garbage...

Just give the rookie (Leonard) a chance to play...you won't need either of those two washed up losers...

True, but it seems like Battier is going to Miami, and I guess I could've included Prince.

Butler, barely. But I'm with ElNono. I dislike both.

I just don't wanna have to look at Howard's ugly face all season.

Caron Butler

- less trouble
- more consistent offensively

Both smell like RJ all over again. Give me Hill, Battier or Prince and I'm one happy Spur!

Butler. He's a better defender that Jefferson ever was, and I can't stand Howard's donkey-ass face.

I'd rather have a big and Leonard at SF.

They're both mediocre players that can barely create their own offense, and are declining, athletically..

Niether, they both would be a RJ 2.0 as in a bad fit. I would rather see them go after Battier or even prince. Between these two however I would choose Butler for his swager over a pot-head anyday.

This poll needs a third option: Punch self in the nuts/vagina...

Caron Butler will get the full MLE, at least. Howard? I can't imagine he gets more than around $3 million.

Butler for $20M over four years or Howard for $9 million over three years? Neither sounds like a very good deal for the Spurs but you'd have to go with Butler. Howard is an injury risk, doesn't really fit and is a character risk. Butler, on the other hand, is an injury risk, doesn't really fit but he's not a character risk. Plus you can trust Butler to put in the work to get healthy and in shape. With Howard, not so much.

You think Butler has swagger and doesnt smoke pot? You must be in the clouds. LOL if you dont think Timmy is a pot head either. Why the negative connotation?

in order: Prince, Battier, Hill, Butler, Howard. Spurs only need a quick fix till Duncan & Manu are gone. seems like they would give both butler & howard too long of a deal and take needed playtime and experience from Leonard.

Caron Butler and it isn't even close...

Butler

Those who don't like him will come around when he is the one who is stepping up when one of the big three is having an off night. He gives the Spurs a solid 4th scoring option when one of the big 3 is having an off night and gives added insurance in case of an injury.

He is more of a gamer , not afraid to take the big shot than Jefferson. He is a better player in a slower tempo game than Jefferson who neds to run in the open court with a top passing pg to be most effective. Butler is also a good free throw shooter.

Injuries have knocked him back but if not for those injuries the spurs would not have a shot at getting him now.

And with all the games in a shorter space of time the big 3 will need more rest, a 4th proven reliable scoring option is a need. Leonard will be the defensive sub. Butler works into the lineup perfectly.

This is like a poll among 7-11 workers:

Would you rather have Raquel Welch or Angelina Jolie?

Ain't happening folks.
