I tend to agree with a lot of people on spurstalk that the spurs need a guy with upside... holding out for Butler.

Grizzlies will miss him ... better chance for the Spurs to beat them in their season opener. And hopefully Battier is not the mising piece for the Heat to win a title ...

Rudy Gay says hi.

Now that's a gay I'd like to see on the Spurs.

Rudy Gay says hi.

I have posted this earlier, but Z-Bo and Gasol would not have had that many touches in the playoff series against the Spurs if Gay was not injured. Their offensive game would have looked much different ... actually the Grizzlies began rolling last season after Gay got injured and they traded for Battier.

They finally got someone to play the 4th quarter in place of LeBronda.

I'm just saying before we claim that Gay reclaiming the role that Battier took from him is a good sign for the Spurs, we should wait and see how they gel together to start the season.

Yeah ... I'm getting ahead of myself ... best thing that can happen is that Kawhi shuts Gay down :king

Battier is a nice pick-up for the Heat.

Battier doesn't play the game that Wade and James wanna play, which involves not playing defense. Bad fit. If they Heat were better coached and James were less selfish a player, this could work. But I see it not really helping much.

Heat's best move is to part with one of their big 3 in favor of stronger role payers. Bosh is the weakest overall player but they're unlikely to get a decent center to replace him. So I think it's got to be Wade or Lebron. They don't win a title with all three of those guys, book it. Same reason the so called Dream Team Lakers never won a championship.

Eddy Curry also joining Heat,

Damn he would be a nice replacement for Duncan

The Spurs were able to attract decent older guys for years because of Duncan, and before him, Robinson. Right now the Spurs have no real force to lean on, and older guys looking to chase a ring know that.

There's no reason for a decent role player to want to come to SA if they can get on one of the big 4.

James
Wade
Battier
Bosh
?

I like this signing if James would play point. Other than that I dont see him getting much minutes as a 3
