Hope Portland handles this better than the Darius Miles debacle.

WTF does this have to do with the Darious Miles debacle???

^Nothing. It's just that Stern cancelling that deal last night wasn't enough.

This is a sad day for Blazermaniacs. B-Roy was almost solely responsible for restoring the dignity of the franchise. I'm sure we will honor him appropriately on opening night.

Oden next?

I didn't know Oden's knees were contagious.

At least now Wes Matthews can start and get 35 unencumbered minutes every game.

Its kind of sad when you think about what could have been. Dude had upper echelon talent. He was just as good as LeBron or Wade or Melo or whoever. When you think about what could have been. Portland is due some good luck.. BIG TIME!!!

No he wasn't. He was very good. But a notch below those guys. He was in the Joe Johnson, Caron Butler, Jason Richardson level.

How many goats did he have to blow to do that? That explains the knees.

I've been a big Roy fan since he was playing at Washington, and it's really sad to see such an amazing player have to cut his career short.

I figured he would have become a crippled after another injury, good to see that he's being smart and cutting his losses short.

Hopefully he didn't spend all his money.

YEs Jam always brings perspective. No he was not as good as Wade ... just stop. He was very good,an All-star. But his knee issues go back to his Wash Husky days ...even if he did not hurt his knees as a pro .. he was NEVER goona be WADE good.

Roy was always overrated by many ...

Sad to see him go--but if he continued on he'd have more troubles as he got older in life. I would've probably done the same in his position. I can't imagine how much pain he is currently in and after the ravages of time and season wear-and-tear would've had on him in his latter years of his NBA career. Good luck to him in whatever endeavors he chooses to do if he does retire.

At his best he was just as good. I firmly believe that. But you are welcome to disagree.

killa was never a fan of roy.

honestly i dont think he was over rated at all, he let his game speak for itself. sure he wasn't in kobe or wades level, but honestly he was alot closer to them than joe johnson was to him. easily one of the most clutch players in the league, when it came to a last second shot maybe 2 people currently playing who id feel comfortable shooting it besides him. rarely made a mental mistake on the court and was a solid 20 5 5 type guy.

knee injury is infectious IN PORTLAND imho
fify. Blazers have a really bad reputation of having their players getting injured. I feel bad for Blazer fans b/c they really could of had a really good team if the players weren't injured all the time.

Why doesnt that shit happen to douchebags like Kobe ?

Fuck that shit, Roy has more balls than Kobe, Lebron and Wade combined

It is a puzzler. One would figure after he raped in Colorado nothing but bad tidyings would take place. Uh, uh. He grabbed some jacks & timbers and started back down. & afore they could get a stopper in the bottle on him he'd put Daddy on his knees and lodged one right behind his ear. BOOM!!!

Just like that.
