The Rockets are working to sign Marc Gasol to a 4 year, $55M offer sheet, sources tell Y! Memphis would have 3 days to match, or lose him.

This...he was a Memphis' Robin under the post next to Batman (Randolph)

Okay, I am down for that rematch in the playoffs, Spurs and Grizzlies.

they gave randolph and gay the max and conley is already making around 9 million. may be why we are hearing trying to dump mayo.

Its okay, Heisley is loaded and generous.

Grizzlies can afford to have 3 maxed players.

They aren't trying to dump OJ, they would be getting salary back in McRoberts.

‎4 years, $55 million (the most Houston can sign him for). if Memphis matches, HOU will work on sign and trade

Can the brothers play in the same team?

If DeAndre can get 10mil, Gasol can get a few mil more.

I can't think of any reason they can't match it.

they'll match. this was houston trying to accelerate the centers market

The question becomes: who's going to max out Nene?

Good move, but why didn't Buford do this? Don't sweat cap space - Stern has small market teams' back. :rolleyes

Huh, hes up there with Bogut and Howard as the best defensive centers in the game. He also can hit a 15 footer. Thats solid gold in the NBA.

I'd much rather gamble on Jordan for $10 million a year than Gasol for almost $14 million per.

That is the max for a 3rd year player offered by an outside team.

About $175 million left committed to those 3 guys over the next 4 plus years.

:lol

Would be neat if Memphis passed, but they'll match. This is just to expedite the center saga.

Also need to be black. That will get you drafted.

The new CBA didn't set the max at 30% of the cap and get rid of the 25% and 35% brackets? Then again, my source on that was ESPN and not the actual CBA (the NBAPA still has the 2005 CBA up on its site).

houston will be a true competitor the coming season if they manage to land marc. they already got lowry/scola/martin plus a handful of young hot prospects, a good C would complete a solid squad for them imho. a core of martin/lowry/scola/marc wouldn't look too bad imho
