One of "changes" Dwight Howard wants is signing of Chauncey. If DH12 stays, sources say he'll urge Billups to spurn Heat and "anchor" Magic

hmm go to the favorites to win the east, get significant playing time, and not have to do much work OR go to a team that traded for gilbert arenas with a superstar that already has one foot out the door? must be a tough decision for billups.

LOL, they will sign Billups, STILL flame out vs. HAwks or Heat and Dwight will STILL leave ...

Chauncey still has some (a little) game left.
But it won't matter. They still probably lose to the Hawks, Bulls, Celts, knicks or Heat come playoff time.

He's just trying to save a little face. Bottom line is that saying he wasn't happy that Orlando used the amnesty clause on Gilbert Arenas, just shows he should stick to dunking and leave the managing to the people that are paid to do it.

I guarantee you that if you polled the other owners a shit ton of them would say they would have done the exact same thing Orlando did. Arenas signed that contract when he was putting up almost thirty points a game, and since then he's spent three years not playing more than 32 games, then had an okay season between Washington and Orlando where he played 70 games, and averaged about 12.5 points. Also, let's not forget the whole gun thing.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy but Orlando dumping him was probably a pretty smart move.

Lastly, whoever re-signs him probably won't be giving him 20 million a year for the next three years.

LOL, Billups would be a moron not to go to Miami or LA.

Nets considering claiming Billups, just so he won't be in Orlando. :lol Smart move.

Magic just need to buy Howard a Maserati, and he will be good for a couple years, make sure its got 26's on it too

And I'm guessing he would stop being a "stupid fuck" in your eyes if he came to the Lakers.

Just further proof that Dwight doesn't need "more power" in the front office. He's hurting his chances just by blabbing this to the league if the Nets swoop in and grab Billups.

Chauncey Billups has been claimed by an NBA team off amnesty waiver -- but it isn't the Nets, league source tells Y! Sports.

Still unclear which team made the claim on Billups, but should become known soon.

Orlando can't claim him because they are over the cap, correct?

I bet it's Cleveland. Dan Gilbert has been a pissy cunt to the players ever since LeBron left him face down.

WoW! Had to either decline matching Jordan or amnesty Mo Williams.

johnhollinger John Hollinger
Also could have amnestied Kaman. This is going to be real interesting to see how they did this.

Atlanta makes some sense; they could amnesty Hinrich and put in a bid for Chauncey.

Why is Hollinger assuming the Clippers didn't make a huge lowball bid?

I can't wait to hear the tirade from Billups. Nice core the Clippers have, but that's not a team that can win this season, which is what it sounds like he wants.

Obviously Paul would start but dont clips have Mo williams, Bledsoe and trying to trade for Cp3 at PG?

If Stern keeps insisting on Gordon coming in trade then no way the Clippers land Paul.

No, Shaq was a stupid fuck when he was on LAL and after he left. Dwight is the best center in the league, but that doesn't mean people should let him have power in team logistics.

But even still that is 3 PG's (if Bledsoe is really one) ...maybe they amnestied ... Mo?

Kaman is a much more valuable trade asset ...

Yeah, Williams would be the obvious amnesty move for most teams, though with the Clippers the obvious move is probably letting Jordan walk if they put in any kind of decent bid for Billups. Who knows though; they may have gotten him for $1 million and not had to make any move.

Pistons < Spurs
12-12-2011, 06:32 PM
Billups,Gordon,Butler,Blake,Jordan is a nice group. I'd pencil them in the playoffs for sure.

And they can either keep Kaman and play him off the bench, or trade him for something else.

I'm definitely rooting for the Clips this year.

The minimum amnesty bid on Chauncey Billups deal had to be $1.3M. Says one GM: "I'm told there were multiple bids." Clippers had highest.

So lemme get this straight.

The Orlando Magic are suppose to stop using their GM and start having Dwight Howard make personel decisions and his first move is to go after Chauncey Billups?!!!!

This shit has been going on for so long now. Prima donna superstars running the show.

I'd say "Fuck him". The magic have paid him a LOT of money to play basketball for them. That used to be enough. Now not only do you have to pay these guys crazy amounts of cash, but you also have to concede some sort of "veto power".

Laker fans are prefectly willing to slop all over Kobe's nuts but I hope Magic fans have more dignity.

The Magic should have stopped using their GM when he handed Rashard Lewis $120 million.
