Kobe Bryant is livid with the Lakers, and he may demand a trade, Stephen A. Smith said Thursday. Appearing on SportsCenter, Smith said “I predicted that Kobe Bryant will demand a trade, and I am not budging from that. He’s livid. I’ve known Kobe too long. He is ticked off. “It’s not just because [the Clippers] got Chris Paul, which is a guy that he expected to have. It’s because Jim Buss seems to be doing the inexplicable,” Smith said. “It makes no sense. It’s one thing for the team not to have improved [after losing to the Mavericks], it’s another thing entirely for them to regress. If you know anything about Kobe, that is the last thing that he wants to do. “It will not be pleasant at all.” Larry Brown Sports

Reporter Ric Bucher said he would not be surprised if Kobe demands a trade. He added that a GM figured Kobe would demand a trade within a month. Larry Brown Sports

Kobe Bryant is pissed off at the Lakers and Ric Bucher and Steven A Smith believe he will ask for a trade.

The question is not whether Bryant would help the Spurs win a championship but what would it take for Bryant to accept coming here and what would the Lakers accept in return for Bryant.

Entertain the though, give me your thoughts.

Lakers Get
Tony Parker + McDysse + R.Jefferson + Future 1st Pick

Spurs Get
K.Bryant

:lobt:

Both Kobe and Duncan get their rings together stick it to the whole nba!

I mean where else would Kobe want to go and be coached by?

He likes Coach Popovich and Duncan...soooooo :wow

Do that hocus pocus shit front office and make this happen. Kobe needs someone to come through in the clutch for him. He can play small forward until his knees give out.

Tim would just be one more big man in a long line of big men who artificially inflated Kobe's legacy.

No thanks, no need for a shit contract like that, and the shit player attached to it.

$83.5 million for a bag of shit on the decline? Not seeing Holt paying that just to see the team get skunked.

How about just the fact that he puts asses in the seats and would sell merchandise at a level that flea market sellers such as your grandma can only dream about.

After the RJ debacle, the Spurs won't make such a risky move. While Kobe is obviously much better than RJ, he's on decline and is owed like $30M per year. It's not a guarantee the Spurs would win more titles with him. Despite being stacked the Lakers got skunked last season.

The Spurs need an all-star bigman if they were to acquire a big contract player.

Well having Kobe Bryant on the Spurs this year would be almost worth another asterisk title.

Who is going to pay to watch the last gasping breaths of his career? Might as well go get Shaq instead to cash off an old-timers tour without paying the $83.5 million tbh.

exciting in that it wouldn't help the spurs at all?

DejuanorwhatDude

You wouldn't be excited having Kobe Bryant on your team? With Manu + Tim + Kawhi? Then I guess absolutely no FO move would get you to say they'd done their work.

Kobe may not be what he was even 5 years ago but he's still one of the best players in the game and I for one would be pumped to have a player like him on our team versus hearing "The Spurs have re-signed Steve Novak" as our big FO move. Now in the long term would it help the Spurs, no. Short term it'd be amazing.

No point in really debating it but fun to speculate nonetheless.

Kobe is a front runner, he would never be seen on a small market team. He would retire first.
