Overrated imo, but worth a play.

Top 10 of all time for me. When it came out, it was just flat out amazing but it's not a style of gameplay for everyone. Make sure to watch some videos of it in action because it's a niche game.

One of the best games ever, a great experience. I hope they don't ruin the magic with the movie version.
too much SC2 has ruined the word colossus for me. *visions occur of wave after wave of hydralisks being burnt to a crisp

Same here and I'm not even halfway through with it yet, maybe top 5 game.
I love the minimal plot, the fact that you don't face any small enemies and don't talk to anybody, the huge world, and the creativity of the bossfights.
I think they should've included atleast a few collectible items but that's just me.

Top 5, yep that seems about right.
If you were to describe SotC to people, you would probably say that it's basically you going around on a horse looking for giant monsters, slay them and move on to the next but it's just so much more than that. The atmosphere, the graphics, the music, the level designs from getting to point A to point B, the soundtrack, the designs of the colossi, and everything else you mentioned.
The problem with the game though is that it doesn't have any replay value (from what I remember about five/six years ago) which kind of sucks but I think you get your money's worth. The bosses are epic, the music is epic, and the game is epic. Absolutely love the game.
Although I don't think its a game for a general audience. I can see why Muser thinks its overrated, not saying he has bad taste or anything. :lol
Anyway Bump, seeing as how much you liked SotC, I don't know if you know this but the developers of SotC/Ico are making the Last Guardian. Keep your eyes on that one.

For me, 11 and 15 took me the longest to figure out(that's really the hard part, no?)
15 also took me over an hour to kill.

in terms of just figuring out what to do, #12 (giant water monster) took me forever. 15 i got lucky and knew right away what i had to do
