after watching some their last preseason game, I predict the Suns have one of the 5 worst records in the NBA this year. Write it down, take a picture. They won't even need to trade Nash to be complete shit this year.

More specific Suns predictions:

Gentry will be scapegoated by Sarver + Babby and be fired at the end of the year
Nash and Grant Hill will checkout mentally at some point early in the season
attendance will be bottom 10 in the NBA

I know it's early, but if the Suns do trade Nash, who do you think they'll send him to?

DMC

If Nash was traded, he would probably go to New York to play for Mike D, but not for anything other than minimum.

I don't see them trading him. The way babby and blanks think they're grossly overestimating what they can get for him. At this point they should use Nash to unload Frye and/or Warrick's contract (the fact Childress has not been amnestied yet is a joke) so they can actually rebuild with cap room. The new CBA makes it impossible to rebuild when you have role players with the contracts Warrick, Frye and Childress have.

For the suns, that's like playing at 100%

Of course it does. He wanted to install a defensive character & culture to the team, but, Nash wanted no part of that and deep sixed Porter.

Not really. Gentry is 100x a better defensive coach than Porter. No matter who the coach is, players should never quit like Nash and Hill did, but Porter was clueless.

The 2010 Suns show that Porter wasn't an asset at all. You'll never admit it but letting Amare leave is the main reason why the Suns suck now, and it's blatantly obvious to anyone who's not a racist old man.

"The Suns were still trying to work out a trade for Pietrus when they reached the buyout with him, and were not happy with his comportment while in Phoenix. [...] “You know the old saying, ‘all’s well that ends well?’,” Suns GM Lon Babby said. “In this case, it’s ‘all’s well that ends.’ "" http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2011/12/23/agent-celtics-top-pietrus-wish-list/

What did I miss? What did Pietrus do to make the Suns hate him so much? And why would Babby publicly make such a comment?

I think Suns fans are about the only ones who were hoping the season would be canceled...

The new CBA makes it impossible to rebuild when you have role players with the contracts Warrick, Frye and Childress have.

I think they are waiting until next summer to amnesty Childress. That way they can use him for this season and then get rid of his cap number when they actually have cap space to use next summer.

Of course, I would rather they get rid of Frye's contract, as he is more of a threat to the team's progress, especially since Gentry is so in love with him.

I don't see how they can trade Nash though (especially if they unload a contract or two along with him), and still have cap room. It would take quite a bit of expiring salary (or a large TPE) to make that work. I'm still hoping they could land at least a low first-round pick, too, but that may be wishful thinking, especially with this front office.

You can't prove that because Nash deep sixed Porter.

And it was me, D, that chartered Nash quitting on Porter.

The Suns sucking has nothing to do with Amare leaving.

Wanting to install one and being able to install one are two different things. They should have kept Steve Kerr, Amare and Mike D. They would still be fun to watch.

Dumbest thing they did was to sign big contracts after he left. Should have started over by trading Nash to Toronto.

I agree with all of this except for the Dantoni part. Gentry is a better coach than Dantoni.

But your main point is dead on. Porter might have claimed to be defense first, but he wasn't and didn't know the first thing about instilling a good defensive mindset.

I don't think very many people realize how good of a coaching job Gentry did to lead the shitty ass roster he had to 40 wins last year. There's maybe 5 other coaches in the NBA who would be capable of going 40-42 with the 2011 Suns' roster.

I'm on strike from the Suns. As long as Sarver owns them, I'm not contributing 1 cent in ticket sales or 1 viewer in TV ratings. If everyone did what I did, Sarver would be forced to sell the team.

The shitty thing is he'd be lucky to get 300M for the Suns right now when he paid 400M+. I have no doubt in my mind he'd be looking to sell the team if he could get a good return for it, this whole city hates him and he knows it, no matter how many arrogant comments he makes in an attempt to cover up his insecurities.

The only reason he still has the team is because he massively overpaid for it when the economy was at a high and can't sell without taking a massive loss, something that won't change anytime soon as the team is losing value every day.

the suns were NEVER that good period. they looked real good in one season or two but such teams who live on jump-shooting will never win championships. mavs played a similar style of game back then but thanks to our FO geniuses we took steps to install a more stable style on this team and finally we completed the championship puzzle, whereas suns FO didn't do nothing but weakening the team year by year since 04. Suns FO is a full bunch of dipshits tbh, they just played a style of game they enjoyed watching and they never had no intention of winning something tbh
