Rather than sidetrack a different thread (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5527229&postcount=24) like we all do...

Next, some kid in school, will get in trouble because his pizza slice looks like a gun.
You guys are no fun. Someone should have followed up:

Boy disciplined after waving gun-shaped pizza slice (http://mynorthwest.com/646/594696/Boy-disciplined-for-pointing-a-pizza-gun)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Zero tolerance equals zero intelligence.

That's pretty astoundingly dumb.

The linked article uses the term Pizza Gun, which I was hoping would be like the T-Shirt Guns mascots use at sporting events but with delicious snacks instead of apparel.

In any event, yes... it goes to far and creates a generation of pussified crybabies. The parents of millennials are to blame for this, as is the entire "its for the children!" movement of the 80s.

But now I'm curious how you thought this fit into the Shroud of Turin thread, Wild Cobra.

Edit: I see now. My apologies.

Thank god he wasn't Muslim, he might have ended up in one of those secret prisons they keep the other camel jockeys.

That really sucks tho, he is bound to lose out on social interaction during one of the most important parts of the day for a child...he'll prolly grow up to shoot someone for real cuz he's so depressed. Way to go, Libtards!

TSA confiscates cupcake as ‘security threat’

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/cupcake-615x345.jpg

A 35-year-old university professor was forced to surrender her cupcake to TSA officials at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on Wednesday on grounds that it posed a potential “security threat.” According to MSNBC.com, the security officer said that the frosting on the red velvet cupcake was enough like a gel to violate the administration’s restrictions on liquids and gels which may be used as explosives.

Rebecca Haines, a communications professor at Massachusetts’ Salem State University was attempting to fly out of Las Vegas when a Transportation Security Administration agent confiscated the purportedly dangerous baked good. The tasty but apparently deadly weapon was packaged in a small Mason jar.

The officer, according to Haines, didn’t seem to believe that the pastry might actually explode, but that it fit the bureaucratic definition of a potentially dangerous item and was therefore not allowed on the flight.

=====

I feel so much safer now, and so relieved my tax dollars are being wasted on ignorant, otherwise-unemployable TSA bureaucratic robots who work airport security.

America, laughing stock of the world.

And there's NO STOPPING THE INSANITY.

Just eat the damn cupcake on the spot and say "are we good?"

A real terrorist would probably choose to hide his or her weapon in something that would be considered ridiculous to search or confiscate like this knowing that such an incident would cause embarrassment for the TSA if they did search it, and thus they would be less likely to do so.

But that doesn't mean I support this kind of searching. At some point, we have to realize we live in a free society and we have to find a balance between protecting our safety and not going to extremes to live in a protective shell.
