Mine were Super 8, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (predictable, tbqh), and Xmen.

I have yet to see some of the movies getting Oscar buzz such as Drive.

I liked Captain America best out of the comic book movies. Senna was easily the best movie I saw last year, with Cave of Forgotten Dreams right behind that.

insidious, just because they did a good job with the sound on the movie the ending was kind of crappy, but it was still good.

Source Code

Lincoln Lawyer
Super
Ip Man 2

My favorite was Drive.

Go ahead and call me a fag, but the only thing I hated was the over the top gore. Thought it was going to take itself a little more serious.

Ip Man 2 I believe was released in 2011 in the US... but was really out in 2010 in other places.. so I just put it there.

Good call, forgot about Hanna. I am seeing Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy this weekend, been a fan of John Le Carre for some time. Anyone care to say how Oldman compares to Alec Guinness as Smiley? He played him in two BBC productions.

Super 8 and X-Men for sure. Didn't see Thor or Rise yet. But Super8 was all around good times, and X-Men was the best in the franchise yet.

Also thought Bridesmaids was the funniest movie I seen this year, followed by 30 Minutes or Less, Your Highness, and Horrible Bosses.

Thats ok cause I thought the Source Code was god awful. HPDH was probably my most disappointing movie of the year. The source material lent itself to an epic ending and the ending was just flat as shit. Really poor adaptation.

I have seen two of the HP movies, and my gf is a huge HP fan. She was visibly shaking with anger during some of the scenes, for me it was far more entertaining to watch her than the movie :lol

Some of the movies were good, some were meh, but the last 2 should have been amazing. The first one was well done but the 2nd could have benefited from another 30-45 minutes of run time. Just a god damn shame really. Beer and Harry Potter huh? Nice job!

Cave of Forgotten Dreams and Source Code were the biggest disappointments for me.
The best movie I saw in 2011 was 2010's Meek's Cutoff.

I have yet to see Planet of the Apes and Tree of Life (Can't believe I haven't seen Tree of Life yet)

But hands down, MONEYBALL is my #1 favorite movie of 2011, and probably favorite film of the past couple years. Can't wait for the blu ray on Jan 10th :tu:tu

I really liked Source Code mostly because of its premise. I wish the movie could have been longer, and that more of those eight minute scenarios were shown.

I liked the idea of Source Code but the logic completely broke down at a certain point. There's some movies, like Inception, that you can suspend disbelief because most of it makes sense and you're enjoying it all enough.

With Source Code, it just got to a point where I said "No no no, that makes no damn sense whatsoever" and gave up.

I think that about the Spurs' rotation all the time but I still enjoy watching the games.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was very good, although I can see how it may be hard to follow with those who are not familiar with the book. I still don't understand why they made Peter gay, it made no sense and somewhat muddied things. Other than that my only small quibble was Oldman not looking like a "spindly frog" as Smiley is described. He absolutely nailed Smiley though!

:lol Good analogy. Pretty much my thoughts. I liked it up until the e-mail timing. Still haven't been able to figure that out.

I can't really wrap my head around Inception completely, but I've resigned myself to the notion that it might just be over my head.
