The jury is still out so far but..22ppg 46.8% from the field and a whopping 5.8 rebounds ain't what I'm used to seeing. He looks like he's lost a step.

I haven't seen much of Dirk since the Christmas game, but you got to take into account that the Mavs have played some decent teams except there only win against the Raptors, even the Timberwolves are one of those teams that can have it going that one night. I just hope they gave all what they got tonight, and laydown for the Spurs tomorrow, those guys sure gave the Spurs some problems last year.

The same for the Lakers, but it's sure nice having that leverage against the contenders, just in case Spurs pull a regular season championship again this season.

I dunno..seems like Dirk used to burn decent teams not struggle against them. I mean it's only 5 games in maybe he's just out of shape who knows yet, but it's a cause for concern.

He definitely looks a year older than last year, IMO.

Cubs, you don't come here to talk basketball, do you?

You're a glutton for the young man punishment. I'm on to you (but not ON to you, perv)

The Mavs lost some great players in Chandler and Barea, gained an aging loser in Carter, while the rest of the team, other than Dirk, got fat and happy. It's not Dirk getting old per se.

Dirk is out of shape&form but it isn't his fault Mavs suck. Kidd, Marion, and Kardashian are utter crap right now and Haywood was allways a 15min per game scrub. I'm also afraid Kidd is done tbh...

what happened to the mavfan repeat?

tbh 22 ppg on 46.8% shooting isn't even bad. Also a 5 game sample is really skewed for shooting percentage.

The rebounds are due to age but also because Dirk paces himself. It's no fluke that his rebounding generally elevates in the playoffs. I mean Dirk had a great season last year but only averaged like 7 boards... in this compact schedule it is more beneficial to Dirk to pace himself and take it easier on the glass.

Of course he's lost a step. he's 33.

But I don't care, we got the ring and that's all that matters. And we're better than our record and will still be a dark horse come playoff time.

Longer layoff, shorter training period = more out of shape. It will come around.

But, the Wolves?

They broke their cherry on your time.

It aint about proving. It's about competing. I don't have anything to prove at my job either, but I go in and do it right every time.

I cannot imagine going on a month vacation and needing 6 weeks after I get back before I can perform my job properly. You heat the grill, you slap the patty, you flip the burger, you toast the bun. Rinse and repeat.

He's doing his job fine, but to pass to another level where he's the best bball player in the world is another thing. Cuban should have kept Chandler, it took the Mavs too long to get the right complimentary players. I doubt Dirk is happy about that.

It didn't help him playing for his team in Germany instead of resting during the offseason.
