Believe it or not, the end of the world did not occur over night, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the Spurs are still alive in their quest to wrest the crown from the champs' heads.

Yes, they played perhaps the worst playoff game in their history last night, but they have an extra day off betw games to try to get some of their mojo back before Sunday night. They will find out what they need to do to win, and they will have an great effort on Sunday, I promise you.

Detroit set a Finals record in only having only 4 turnovers(Spurs had 4 in first 3 mins) in the game, everything they threw up, be it to beat the shot clock, or a contested shot went in. On the flip side, everything the Spurs tried, failed miserably, even layups and gimmies.

I will be surprised if SA does not respond like champs on Sunday...so in the meantime, enjoy your Father's Day weekend, watch some US Open golf and chill out.

Thankyou, I hope I made some of you feel a little better today.

The only good thing about this is I bet Spurs in 6 with my vbookie. I would be feeling better had they not looked so bad.

Kuddoes to Detroit though, they looked like Champs last night.

Thanks, Jim. I know when the spurs lose, its usually a blowout. So I'm not worried about the last two games. I know we are a smart team and we'll figure it out. I still like our chances with two remaining at home. Believe it or not, the pressure is actually on Detroit to get game five. They don't want to have to win twice in Texas.

We have the Pistons right where we want them. They are cocky and overconfident. We are taking game 5. I'm calling it right now!

Spurs in 6.

Wasn't game 3 the game in which the Spurs played one of their worse games? Wasn't game 4 the game in which the Spurs would come back after a poor performance? Wasn't Tim Duncan supposed to not have back-to-back poor performances? Wasn't Manu supposed to come back and score like a madman after his game 3?

I could never discredit the Spurs, because I think they are a great team and have showed over the last 7 years that they are a championship caliber squad with great players. But, for some of you Spurs fans to come to the messageboard and start by saying Spurs in 4 after the first two games, then adjust to Spurs in 5 after game 3, and then now Spurs in 6 after last night is just funny to me. I've seen Spurs fans quaranteeing games 3 and 4, and now another more guarantees for a Spurs win in game 5??

I'm not so naive to claim to know how the next (possibly) three games will turn out. Each team has shown they are capable of playing great basketball. Just as well, each team has shown to stink up the basketball court. I could claim the Spurs will win the next two just as easily as claim that the Pistons will easily take the next two. I have not, I would not and I shall not. Both teams have come way too far and played their tails off to be in the finals to give up.

I just hope and expect that the next few games will showcase two great teams playing their best basketball. And, if that happens, I think fans of both teams should just appreciate it and hope it's their team that comes out on top.

The majority of us said Spurs in 6. Kori has the vbookie to prove it.

True...many predicted the Spurs would win in six. However...I don't think many predicted they would get "dismantled" the way they did in games three and four last night either. It's really a good thing they are off now until Sunday. It will be interesting should the Spurs fall on Sunday and trail 3-2. It will be the first time the Spurs have ever trailed in a "finals" series. Of course it helps when you've never lost a finals game at home either, and the team whom your facing hasn't won there in nearly 10 years either. Everything right now is in the Spurs favor. Now you have two days to over analyze the game and crunch all the numbers you want.

But as Jim said...the Sun is shining...if that helps anyone.

"some" = "majority"??
"some" = "all"??

I said "SOME." I meant "some." I don't need to see the vbookie to show me I'm right, but thanks.

Ask SequSpur what his prediction for this series was, and if it changed after game 3, and if it changed again after game 4? And, I saw a fair share of "Spurs in 5" post before the series and during the first two games in SA.

I wasn't disputing your point...I was enhancing it by showing how some Spurs fans predicted one thing but said another.

What are we supposed to do, say that the Pistons will still win the series? This team can do great things, and every Spurs fan on this board has seen it. Its very embarrassing and dissappointing when you lose by 31 points in a Finals game after winning the first two, yet the Spurs are not done. They can still win Game 5, they can still win Game 6, or if needed Game 7. No one thought they would be this far a few months ago, including the teams that we played in earlier rounds. Well, we already bitch-slapped them so I don't see why we can't win again this round. Detroit played AWESOME last night, they are a GREAT team. They may end up winning it, I really don't know. But we can't count out our team just because they lost two in a row.

Sorry, Piston fans. The Spurs let us kick their faces in Games 3 adn 4, just to lure us into a sense of false confidence.

C'mon, man. At least give us the credit we deserve.

Sun ain't shining overhere but my only relief is that after watching the game again, I'm sure of these 3 things:

1. Pistons Confidence: By now they probably think they can beat us with darko starting.
2. The spurs couldn't possibly play worse than they did yesterday.
3. Antonio mcdyess and hunter will come back to earth , also I don't expect Ben to regularly hit those fade away jumpers.

Hunter was shooting 28% before last night, and last night, everything he threw up, went in.

Those are the things that can turn a good game into a blowout.

Hell, I would be strutting like a rooster if that were me out there too.

They had everything go right and the Spurs had everything go wrong.

Games 3 and 4 both started out with bad juju.

In Game 3, Detroit stole a pass in first 10 secs and wallace dunked and got fouled.

In Game 4, Manu was called for a foul on the tip.

That shit has not happened all year long to SA, it was just not their 2 nights.

I am thinking that the Spurs' luck will have to change.

I was just trying to rally the troops :spin

I give DET all the credit they deserve and more. They played amazing basketball, they completely shut us down. People say the Spurs played sloppy. I say there is a reason why they did. DET's defense was amazing and the energy the players brought to the court was too much for the Spurs to match.

And I have given you and the other intelligent Pistons fans props. You have shown class both in victory and defeat.

I think the Pistons have been receiving tons of credit from many posters. They were amazing, many of us have said that. You have to remember that this is a SPURS message board, what do you want....for us to make predictions that go against out team??? If the Spurs play the way they can and should play they will win in 6. You would say the same thing about your team.

1. Don't confuse piston fan with piston team. Piston fan is thinking that 5 red, white and blue jerseys stuffed with straw could win the next two games. Piston team is ready to come out and work even harder. If overconfidence were going to be an issue wouldn't it have reared its head after game 3? Instead you saw even greater effort.

2. True. Even with that, they'd have to play a lot better and the pistons regress to game 1/2 form. Anything possible but I wouldn't bet (not even imaginary vBookie bucks) on the pistons regressing now that they've found their groove so the spurs are going to have to see it and raise it to win.

3. Hunter and Ben were offensive aberrations. McDyess has been solid for three straight games and has the legitimate talent to keep it going. Remember, he was headed for superstardom before his knees imploded. The skill is still there even if surgeries have put limits on his athleticism.
