I would call in, and I think a lot of people would be astonished by my general NBA/sports in general knowledge. My brother can't get enough of my talents. We play a game called "name the player." Basically, he pulls up the most random player he can find on an NBA roster, and after covering the screen to reveal only the players face, I have to guess who he is. After approximately 100 plays, I would estimate I have correctly guessed 92/100 faces.

I've called other radio shows before. When I lived in NY, I typically called 660 the fan every month or so when a topic of interest came up. Now that I live in San Francisco. I've called KNBR 1050 once or twice just to throw around some ideas. I love talking to radio hosts, especially when they respect their callers. I don't call hosts who think they are king of the world. I want my opinion to have merit.

fan/blogger hosted shows I find usually only work well when there are two hosts who can have a discussion or a host with a guest. Depending on calls with a single host makes it hard on the host to keep up a thoughtful narrative. Sometimes there's no calls, sometimes there's such a severe lag due to skype or cell or whatever that the show is a mess, you have to listen to dumb callers, etc.

An example of a single host show that needs a co-host:

This is a Knicks show that is on often with an enthusiastic host, but the show is repeatedly marred by production issues with the callers and the lack of another host/guest to bounce things off of and to engage in discussion.

Examples of the better podcast format with multiple hosts/guests.

Celtics Stuff Live (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/celtics_stuff_live). More than one host, and nearly every show has a long conversation with a media member that is worth listening to. They also take calls.

Chicago Bullseye (http://www.bullspodcasters.com/chicago-bullseye?cid=2). Two hosts who keep it lively with discussion, no calls. The same network carries a podcast called BullsBeat, which is a solo 20 minute show.

NYK Podcast (http://thenewyorkknickspodcast.com/). Two host show, no calls. Might not be as clued in as the solo Knicks podcast, but because they're able to bounce talk off each other, it's more listenable.

Sixers Beat (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sixersbeat). Two hosts, occasional calls. Well informed, depressed 76ers fans.

It would be hard to get two people to keep up on the latest goings on, and dedicate a time slot. I wouldn't take calls either, but I might have a guest caller if I had a show. I thought Mono had the voice for it and seemed comfortable with it, just needed a good co-host to keep conversation going.

Probably wouldn't call in. Unless DPG was on-air and no new callers were coming in. But still probably not.
