View Full Version : Trade TP for a big now

scoreboards don't lie. Tonight TJ Ford 7 assists in 20 minutes, TP 6 assists in 30 minutes.

With Green, Manu, Neal and JA we have enough scorers in that team. What we need is a first pass PG no a PG scorer. TJ showed he can run the show.

I say trade TP for a big when he still has value, insert TJ in the starting 5 and use Neal then Manu as back up PG.

Drive for 5 :lobt2:

No way.

Remember, TJ and Manu both have been injury prone, it would be insane to dump TP. Look, a big would be nice, but taking the chance of losing all depth in the back court isn't the answer. Don't expect Neal to run the point well either, even if he worked on it some this summer

This. Then Pop will finally be able to unleash Bon Bon's skills as "point forward", and run the offense thru Matty.

Too bad he gets shitted on by scrubs like Conley in the 1st round

Where would we trade Manu? Only a contending team would take him, we wouldnt get quality back with his age and history of injuries; and they sure as hell wouldnt give us a 1st tier big for him.

Plus Manu is untouchable for other not purely bball reasons.

Everybody is happy that we have a real point guard in the 2nd unit now. Trading TP for a big (whoever that would be) just would bring new problems to the table, especially with Manu being injured ...

I wouldn't trade TP. It's nice to have a reliable pg in the 2nd unit right now. Ford's doin well controlling the offense there. And as mentioned Ford is injury prone. Also I'm not sure what great big we can get in a trade right now anyways. To face realism, Dwight would never come here nor we have any sufficient pieces to get him. I think we are stuck with what we have or we could dangle James Anderson.

T.J. Ford is not a starting PG in the NBA. He's also too much of an injury risk playing 30+ minutes a game.

TP's shooting is off and he is slowing the offense down at times. But he's still averaging 7 assists a game. He could be easily averaging a double double this season. TP needs to realize he's not playing in France and playing on a team with talent and scoring options.

Gimme JaVale McGee from washington. That mofo is tearing it up. 12pg, 10rpg, 3bpg, 1spg in just 28 minutes a game. Man that'd be handy on this team.

McGee and Wall
for
Parker and whoever else they'd want.

Your star players have to play harder on the road because the role players will struggle.

Isn't that what I implied? TP and Tim need to play better on the road because the role players generally won't perform as well on the road as at home. I've said that numerous times now.

The problem is that TP and TD can no longer cause the defense headaches. They're getting single covered now. TD used to require a double team on the block or he would score. TP used to be able to get into the paint at will. Now even if he gets in the paint he has trouble finishing.
