View Full Version : Who is your Non-QB NFL MVP?

Majority of the time, a QB is labelled the MVP first. If you had to pick a non-qb MVP, who would you pick. I'd side with Megatron. If it weren't for him, the Lions wouldnt have made the wildcard and Stafford wouldn't have half those TDs and be 1000 yards less in total passing. Calvin Johnson is simply unguardable and it showed against the Saints.

Calvin is pretty special. His individual stats alone are impressive. But even beyond that, defenses focus on him so much, sometimes even shading him and bracketing him with 3 defenders, that he opens up the field for his teammates. He has a similar effect as Moss did in that regard. Truly incredible talent.
I haven't watched all their games, but from what I've seen Von Miller of the Broncos is an absolute monster. And seeing how a lot of their success is based on what their defense has done, even as a rookie, Miller is a guy I'd put in the conversation.
Don't see how it could be anybody but Megatron

Tim Tebow.

Von has been a non-factor since his injury, he doesn't deserve consideration, tbh..
Calvin Johnson would be my pick, but if I had to go with an underrated defensive selection, I'd go with Justin Smith, tbh..Willis gets more credit for their D, even Aldon Smith has received a lot of hype, but Smith is their best defensive player and anchor..

Definitely Calvin.
Other deserving candidates would be Ray Rice and Victor Cruz

I don't think J. Smith is underrated, tbh...he got a lot of props this year and was selected to his 3rd probowl (deservedly so). The most underrated player on that D this year was Navarro Bowman, who beasted all year and kept their defense elite when Willis missed a few games. He was shafted in the probowl voting imo.
Carlos Rogers also had a great year, but i think he made it to the probowl...

I'd say Ray Rice and Rob Gronkowski

Offensively, it would have to be between Megatron, Ray Rice, and Gronk.
Defensively...it gets a little tougher...but I really like what Jason Pierre Paul and Justin Smith have done.

Definitely JPP:tu
Joseph, Miller, Smith, Suggs make up the rest of the pack defensively

Pierre definitely making a late push, but hard to argue against Megatron.

Jason Pierre Paul and Victor Cruz easily. Those 2 have been flat out amazing. Cruz now joins Hakeem Nicks in the top 5 WR discussion. JPP is the best defensive end in the NFL. Those 2 along with Eli becoming the best QB in football are huge reasons why the Giants will be the last team standing next month.

I'd say NaVorro Bowman for the weirdest first name and the fact that he had 143 tackles and held down the fort for the 49ers when the more heralded Patrick Willis was missing time with injuries. And all the other cool choices have been said already!
Greg Oden

Saying Willis is anything other than San Francisco's undisputed best player is top 5 worst takes in nfl forum history bad.

Peyton Manning.
He didn't play the QB position once this season. He moved to the IR position.

Pat Angerer - top 4 LB in football.

He would be w/o question a good non-QB MVP as well...Played extremely well on a terrible Colt team.
