Usually, you can't judge a player in a couple weeks, much less a couple games. But with Ike Diogu, it was obvious after a couple minutes that he was of no use to this team.

Mr. Thomas, the Spurs will see you now. No, just keep your passport with you, this might be relatively quick.

How do you suck that bad in garbage time mins to where they cut you. He must didn't sit on the bench the right way or something. Maybe POP just wanted to cut someone, soooo Dicaboo had to go.

I have a feeling he will stick. He is primarily defensive minded and played with Leonard. They were a defensive tandem.
Besides, barring the unlikely prospect of a trade, there is no one better out there.
And whatever they do they better not trade away this years upcoming draft pick because it should be a good one depending on if they get into the lottery and maybe even if they don't get in, but draft in the teens, it is that deep.

I was hoping that Diogu had something left as he used to bang pretty good at one time...

but just watching him for two minutes and it was pretty obvious he is done.

Where does that put the roster at available of open spots now? Is Thompson's signing going to take place for losing this scrub or will the FO bring in another big?

I'm pretty sure it was the whole making Cole Aldrich look like Hakeem thing.

Oh well, it worth a shot to see if Ike had anything left.

Mr. Diogu, don't forget to drop off your playbook on your way out.

Doesn't bode well for Ike. If there was ever a team in need of a big right now it was the Spurs. Sad to see he couldn't carve out a space for himself. I expect this to be the first of a revolving door of big men this season, unless of course we make a move at the trade deadline.

Did Ike ever go in for a workout or did they just sign him sight unseen?

It's a simple switch of bench seats and paycheck names. Got to keep that payroll under the luxtax.

I'm in Dallas now and get to see a lot of their games. Mahinmi is really coming along with increasing minutes. He's averaging 20 minutes per game this season, shooting 70% with 8ppg and 5rpg.

His old problem with fouls seems to be largely over as he seems to have settled down on the court now. I think he used to get too excited and wanted to show his stuff too much when he did get a few minutes. He'll still get a foul or two when trying to block a shot or do too much, but at least he's trying on defense.

Sometimes you just need minutes to develop a player.
