View Full Version : Mavs: Keep Odom or Trade him?

Lamar is averaging 6.7 points (on 28% shooting) and 5.0 rebounds through the Mavericks' first ten games. He's mentally and emotionally scarred, I wont be surprised if Khloe files for divorce after the AS game because his man Lamar has his mind set on having a pity party for the whole year. I think he needs a fresh start again. TBH, I don't think he;ll be happy anywhere but back in LA but he burned his bridges when he demanded a trade.

So, should Cuban keep this fool or trade him to another team to help the Mavs get some fresh and younger legs?

Yeah, I say keep him. The upside he brings can be extremely useful to the Mavs come playoff time. Even though he hasn't played all that well, you can see that its just a matter of time until he gets it.

Although it drives me nuts that Carlisle even gives Cardinal any minutes outside of junk time. I'm guessing he's hoping that it will light a fire under Odom, the way playing Sean Williams did for Mahinmi and Haywood.

Odom needs all the minutes he can get during the regular season so he can get in as much of a groove as possible. Especially against poor teams, Carlisle needs to keep West, Carter, Mahinmi, and Odom in for plenty of minutes so they can just get more used to the system ran here.

Keep

He is getting over the trade soon

With Dirk and Odom, they have 2 matchup nightmares

Plus, Lamar is left-handed, which gives him an edge

Dallas fan sounding like Laker fan circa 2005 :lmao

Lamar is inconsistent garbage and only really looked decent at times because he was playing next to the best player in the NBA for 7 years and had two seven footers bailing him out defensively.

Keep him unfortunately. Whatever he does or does not do, his main value to the organization right now is as an expiring contract.

There is no way Dallas could get fair value for him right now. Who is gonna trade for a guy who had an emotional breakdown when he got traded a month ago? Imagine if he were traded to Milwaukee or Cleveland or something, he'd probably kill himself.

Why the fuck should Dallas trade him? He's only played like 11 games, obviously it will take some time for him to adjust. The media just wants to fuck up Odom's mindset even more, if he starts hearing he's in trade rumors again the guy will pretty much kill himself at this point.

I think LA could offer Troy Murphy, Ebanks and McRoberts for him right now.
