they are behind the 8ball, no matter what they try

they should follow KODAK footsteps, start suing for infringement of cellphone patents, then file for bankruptcy

My younger brother has a Nokia phone running Symbian (he got it for free). Not a big fan of the OS, but the phone and hardware are quite nice. Very snappy, nice screen and camera. And it does look nice too if you care about looks (which plays some part in it, no matter how small).

Symbian Belle looks good, if only Nokia had finished it up BEFORE everyone stopped making apps for Symbian :depressed

I remember reading about Symbian^3 what seems like ages ago, yet only now is the finished product really hitting the shelves, (Anna was more of a rough draft).

Its all about apps support. If you have it your OS can succeed. Without a good app catalog its pointless. Look at Web OS. Great OS, but no apps.

Manny you think blackberry is dying off?

blackberrys have always sucked and so has their apps... i'll never understand why blackberry was so "business" and so "good" when in reality all it did was support email which all devices do these days and most did back in the day. bb's are whack! rim sucks! they had java and still flopped.

I agree, I have never understood the draw of bb. Good marketing is my only assumption.

It is the enterprise level security. This is also why the dissenters in Bahrain are using bbm to organize, everything is encrypted.

Got the Lumia 710. Its nice, the wp is a damn good os. Dollar for dollar the 710 is one of if not the best phone going. Its slick fast, the touch screen is pretty good. The only gripe is the screen is small but you get what you pay for.

If I was in the market for aphone, I'd give this one a hard look.

Android is turning into a pig. And Apple has and will allways be a nazi concentration camp.

man that's tempting, but I'm too cheap to commit to a $30/month capped data plan for 2 years. might have to buy a 610 or 800 if the price drops

I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seemed best. Kinda confusing though:

http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/19/3356676/htc-microsoft-windows-phone-8-marketing-partnership

This inspiration has resulted in a closer partnership with Microsoft for HTC's first set of Windows Phone 8 phones. "It will be a joint marketing campaign where our devices will be the signature devices, almost the face of Windows Phone 8 in the marketing collateral with Microsoft." This partnership extends to the device naming too, with HTC being the first and only manufacturers to include the Windows Phone 8 name in its product — a decision that was made between Microsoft and HTC. "In Windows Phone 8 marketing you will see the HTC phone as a predominant phone in that marketing campaign," he says, but what about Nokia's Lumia 920? "I'm not saying it will be exclusive to HTC, but we will be the lead product."

Phone looks better than the Lumia imo, aesthetically.

I like the look of the Lumia better, but all I know is be prepared for a WP8 marketing blitz within the next month and a half.

I like the big clock tile, something so simple yet so absent form the windows marketplace at the moment.
