San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Tony Parker scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, as the Spurs controlled the final stanza to upend the Trail Blazers, 99-83.

Tiago Splitter was a spark with 14 points, while fellow reserve Danny Green chipped in 13 points for San Antonio, which got 13 points and 11 rebounds from DeJuan Blair in its second straight win.

"Their second unit came in and played big for them," Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge said. "They put pressure on us, crashed the boards hard, they just had more energy than us tonight."

The Spurs improved to 8-0 at home and won for just the second time in 10 meetings against Portland, which got its six-game road trip started on a sour note.

Aldridge posted 29 points to lead the Blazers, who were coming off a 107-104 loss against the Magic on Wednesday.

Nicolas Batum opened the fourth-quarter scoring with a jumper to give Portland a 67-65 lead, but the Spurs scored the next 14 points to take control.

Kawhi Leonard's layup ended the run, and Parker scored six points in a three- possession span to extend the margin to 91-76 with 3:38 to play.

The difference grew as high as 19.

The Spurs committed 10 of their 23 turnovers in the first quarter, but trailed just 31-27 after 12 minutes.

Green gave the hosts a 33-31 lead with a three-pointer early in the second, and scored five points on an 8-0 run later in the frame that allowed San Antonio to take a 50-47 lead into the break.

"We played great defense despite starting out sluggish but we came out in the second quarter and really started playing," Blair said.

Splitter scored nine points in a back-and-forth third frame, which ended tied at 65.
