It was reported a few days ago in 24sec.net that L. Rytas was awaiting making more player decisions and that everything was depending upon Robertas' decision and that he "wants to leave for the NBA. Things have changed in the last few days. Here's the link and story.

MVP of ULEB Cup final, Robertas Javtokas (209-C-80, agency: Interperformances, college: Arizona), stays in Lithuania. Center of Lietuvos rytas Vilnius team decided to stay in ULEB Cup's champions team and will play in Euroleague for the next season. Javtokas was thinking about NBA after last season but decided to stay in Vilnius.

'Vilnius club's chiefs offered good conditions for me so I'm staying', - said Javtokas. 'NBA lockout is possible and I'm going to participate in Lithuania NT training camp, so I wanted guarantee for the next season'. Javtokas also said that he also stays in Vilnius because of his wife Vilma continues studies in university.

It will be 6th season in Vilnius team for Robertas. Last season was one of the bests when Lietuvos rytas won ULEB Cup and Javtokas was named for MVP. 'I'm thankful for Robertas and other players who stays in Lietuvos rytas despite better offers from other teams', - said Jonas Vainauskas, the vicepresident of Lietuvos rytas.

Last weekend Robertas had wedding with his long-lived friend Vilma Barauskaite. The pair are going on vocation these days.

All work and no play makes RJ a dull boy. Maybe he should take a vacation?

Too bad. Javtokas is exactly the kind of raw-boned, physical big man the Spurs could use in the future against teams like Detroit.

Did he take the decision after watching Game 4?

I can imagine him, sitting in a cold Lithuanian country house, drinking vodka, at 4 am, watching the game on TV, and saying: "No way I'll play for this team! I'd rather have Stalin back!"

Lockout possible, newlywed whose wife is wanting to finish school, wanted security of a guaranteed job all adds up to (personal opinion) Spurs unable to give him warm fuzzies.

Great find.

Oh well, Spurs probably can only introduce one international big per season.

:)

See. When you get the old ball and chain, your decision-making criteria changes...even for a risk-taking motorcycle-riding, shark-tatoo-wearing, Vodka inhaling Lithuanian. :smokin

There is a picture of the couple on this page (http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache:Gtf7DRsbeNcJ:www.elta.lt/statistika-populiariausios.php+Vilma+Barauskait%C4%97&hl=en). I wasn't able to register to get the bigger picture.

Ah well, maybe someone here can.

Karem Gonlum perhaps this season, also. 6-10 SF with good defensive ability and a good leader (Captain with Ulker).

clubalien, you must have gotten this from 20 pages back or something...but to respond to your question, I would imagine the Spurs will renew Nazr's contract if they don't trade him. I still think Robertas will come to the Spurs some day after they helped him get to this point. As things turned out, whether his new wife wanted him to stay in Lithuania or not, he would probably have been 3rd choice between Scola, Oberto and himself.

I asked on status of this dude(didnlt remeber his name) and someone linked in that thread to this thread
